I popped in on my way down the line this morning. Concrete plinths are poured, it's a 6 bay site, and yes, 50m or so from Big Azz ice creams, just under the giant apple.

Correct, we use CCS2

Although for the legacy Model S and X the charge port is Type 2 or Mennekes, and up until the release of Model 3 all Superchargers in NZ used this plug and a second CCS2 plug was fitted to existing Superchargers. The newer Superchargers are now installed with CCS2 plugs only and Model S and X owners need to purchase an adapter which includes some changes to internal wiring of the car.
A similar situation exists in Europe.

No, New Zealand spec Model 3 and Y both have CCS2 port as standard.

Hope not, otherwise my maths is all wrong.

Most of my charging will be at home so expecting good return on the investment. Enough to warrant the extra initial cost over petrol hybrid.

1000km for me would be 150kw (lifetime 150wh or so but lower than highway speeds..) , so $127 plus RUCs thats $203

So about $100 per 500km

So anything doing 6.5L/100km or better will be winning

That's Rav4 Hybrid economy. Not a bad comparison for load carrying ability. Still some savings for you on servicing even if you chew more tyres up enjoying the torque.

The cost of public charging never really figured in my breakdown. I knew it cost a fair bit more hence why I went for the LR.

Shop around, some electricity companies give you the benefit of DCFC cost at the same rate as your home.

In my case Genesis EVGo plan means i can use Chargenet and get charged 14c/kWh.
