More Info: Supercharging.Life database

This is a friendly contest for Tesla owners to track the number of unique public Superchargers where they have charged

- "Supercharger count" is the number of unique public Superchargers where you have charged (just being there does not count), whether or not you were the person plugging in the vehicle (such as a Valet Parking garage or a Passenger) and whether or not it was your own personal vehicle (such as a rental, a loaner, or a friend's Tesla) as long as you were the one who drove >50% of the distance to reach the charger(s).
- The list of chargers in the supercharging.life database are the ones included in the game. If you think one should be added or removed from the list, let us know.
- Only chargers available to the public without special permission are included in the game.
- Chargers not connected to the grid are not counted.
- Doublet locations like the North/South Supercharger 'pairs' in CT, ME, NH, etc. count as individual locations.
- More than 1 charger at the same address, such as Lenox Square Mall (Atlanta, GA) or Montgomery Mall (Bethesda, MD) count as individual locations when they appear as a separate location on the Tesla Nav screen.
- Inactive competitors will be archived and removed from the leaderboard. Just post an update to be reactivated.

See Supercharging.Life database for info on how to post your own visits to the database (preferred), or post your locations with date visited to this thread and one of the admins will update your list for you. All visits must be posted to this thread - not just entered in supercharging.life. If you are the first in the game to visit a supercharger location, please post to the thread as soon as you can so others know it has been visited.

Whitehorse to Dawson City.
The roads are good to fair. More potholes but still much better than I70 from Denver to Glenwood Springs CO.
We saw warnings about the road closed between Pelly Crossing and Stewart Crossing and we checked 511yukco.ca for road status and it said roads were open.
IMG_1284.jpg
IMG_1283.jpg

All the FLO chargers worked at 50kW.

IMG_1340.jpgIMG_1323.jpgIMG_1308.jpg
The roads mostly looked like this.
IMG_1320.jpg

Pretty wildflowers.
Almost all the road was paved but there was one section with just gravel.
And a large Class A RV came speeding down the hill toward us; I stopped and waved for him to slow down and turned the front of the car away; but we were hit by a rock in the front windshield and have about a 3/4 inch crack.
At the FLO charger in Dawson City I attempted to fill the crack with a windshield repair kit.
IMG_1367.jpg

IMG_1368.jpg

The crack is on the passenger side; hopefully the repair does some good.
We saved the video of the RV.
This is the culprit.

IMG_1372.jpg

After we checked into our hotel (Aurora Inn) we found that the road between Pelly and Stewart Crossing was closed due to wild fire.
When we went through this route we saw smoke but the fires were not that close to the road.
We heard that the road was closed due to poor visibility from the smoke.
At least we made it. Yeah.

Day 46
471 miles
We altered our plan and spent a few hours at Grand Canyon National Park. Bernadette had never been there, it was a beautiful day, and our route took us right through the park. How could we not stop and take it in?

We completed our first supercharges of the trip in California

Our car showed 126 degrees at Needles, CA

The day ended with a SpaceX jellyfish as we were pulling into the hotel.

Tomorrow will be a low mileage day, but I should have the opportunity to clear most of Las Vegas.

Made it to Alaska.
It was 75F in Whitehorse yesterday afternoon. On Sunday many of the dinner places are closed. We ate across the street at Belinda's on their porch; it was actually hot. This morning we took the ferry. The border crossing was easy and fast; no line of cars. It was 78F in Chicken. We used about 68% power from Dawson City to Tok AK. We charged to 99% at the FLO charger in Dawson City; again no fee.
The road was fair; mostly hard-pack. Where the road was paved you have to look out for potholes. Right after the border crossing the road was great, paved and lane markings; but alas, only for a few minutes. Could do FSD only for a few short segments. We are staying tonight in Tok (pronounced the first syllable of Tokyo) at the Tok RV Village in a cabin; we reserved a 50A 14-50 EV/RV spot so we can charge up overnight.

Ferry at Dawson City.

And still some snow; 4000 foot elevation; tree line in the north is around 4000 feet.
The maximum elevation on the top of the world highway is around 4800.

That Top of the World Highway was probably my favorite stretch of driving on our 2005 trip. We did it in the opposite direction on our way home staying in Tok one night and Dawson City the next. It was all unpaved back then, but I don't think we had much snow. There was some snow as low as 1500 ft near Anchorage and Skagway though. The latter was very cool as it made for a nice setting for fireworks as we were there on the 4th of July.

The boat crossing at Dawson City looks the same as I remember. They build an ice bridge there in winter, but it's impassible for a couple months usually in November and May.

You're almost making me want to attempt this trip, but I think I will hold out for another year and hope for either more superchargers in Alaska, or more in Northern BC. It sounds like the Yukon is pretty well covered by the Flo network.

The FLO network makes the road trip to Alaska fairly easy.
The FLO station has 1 CCS combo and 1 Chem connector; I brought both in case the CCS did not work.
It will be an issue when you have to wait since someone else is already charging; so far has not happened.
We did see 2 other Tesla's going the opposite direction between Whitehorse and Dawson City.
We are taking our time but you could do it much quicker. The roads are better than I expected.
Internet connectivity is fair; I think these RV parks should replace their old sat receivers with Starlink. Several of the RV's have a Starlink receiver on the ground.
It was 80F in Tok yesterday afternoon. There was a free BBQ in the community park we went to.
Off to Fairbanks today.

Last summer the road from Chicken to the AlCan was pretty gnarly with a lot of frost heaves. How was the Klondike Highway? When I was up there it was littered with potholes and road construction. Just before Dawson City, we basically had to drive through a full construction zone. No pavement and construction vehicles all around.

On my 2005 trip, all the highways other than the Top of the World Highway were ostensibly "paved." But my estimation was that something like 10% of the AlCan was "under construction" and not actually paved. Some of these stretches were quite long, like 20-30 miles. I did get a bad ding on the windshield on one of these which developed into a crack almost immediately. Had the windshield replaced when I got home. We didn't get any flat tires so overall I considered it a win.

I don't recall the Dawson City to Whitehorse stretch being problematic at all, but it was July 2nd by the time we drove it. I picked up a hitchhiker on that trip somewhere north of Stewart Crossing and my mom will never let me hear the end of it :) I had read a guide book that said it was customary to try to help out stranded motorists in the Yukon due to the remote nature of the territory (definitely no cell reception back then). So I pulled over when I saw a broken down truck. Somewhat shockingly neither of the people spoke much English. The guy was a Chilean fisherman and his wife (named Toi) was Thai, but they lived in Whitehorse.. Toi ran a daycare business in Whitehorse and was very keen on getting home by Monday morning (it must have been a Sunday afternoon when we encountered them), so she came with us while the husband waited with the truck. They claimed to know a tow truck driver in Carmacks (hours down the road) that would help them out. So we stopped in Stewart Crossing to use the pay phone to try to get a hold of him to no avail. Then repeated the process in Pelly Crossing. Lots of long hours in the car with Toi trying to make awkward conversation with my mom :)

Eventually we got to Carmacks where we stopped at the gas station and asked about the tow truck driver. In typical small town fashion, the guy at the gas station gave us directions to his house across the street and up the hill down a long potholed driveway. We knocked and waited, knocked and waited, and eventually he came out! I think we must have woken him up. But when told of the predicament, he thought about it for a few seconds and said "yeah I'll go up there and get 'im." This was a minimum 10 hour commitment on his part and it was late in the day. So then we continued on to Whitehorse to drop off Toi at her place in time to get ready for daycare in the morning. Despite being something like 10pm by this point she was insisting on making a proper Thai dinner for us at her house. We had already visited Whitehorse on the way up and were just passing through staying in Skagway that night, so we had to firmly decline. She demanded our home address though and when we got home there was a nice care package waiting for us. My sisters still joke about mom's road trip with Toi

- Madison - S Livingston, WI (#474)

Overnight trip to Madison, WI to have lunch with friends, check out the Wollersheim Winery, and have a fantastic dinner at Sardine. We sat outside to eat at Sardine, and were surprised to see the Mad-City Ski Team practicing on Lake Monona, pretty much right in front of the restaurant. Tomorrow morning we'll hit a cheese monger in downtown Madison, then drive home.

We have seen very little construction. The most construction was between Delta Junction and Fairbanks. The Klondike highway was fair, hard-pack and some potholes. No construction. I could not do FSD since there were no lane markings and I had to manually steer around larger potholes.

Today we drove from Tok to Fairbanks. There were about 4 segments of road under repair/construction with pilot cars. Not too long a wait. This is the most construction so far on our trip (very fortunate). It is 87F this afternoon in Fairbanks. All the FLO chargers cost was zero, but we are staying at a cabin at the Rivers Edge RV park in Fairbanks; the Tesla is charging at a 14-50 hookup at the RV park; cost for the RV park is $85/night; cabin is another $270/night.
Not too many options in Fairbanks according to Plugshare.
In Delta Junction we charged at a Recharge Alaska charger. I thought I had preloaded all the charger apps on my phone but looks like I forgot this one.
It had a slot for a credit card that actually worked.
There is another Recharge charger that we plan to use that is close to Denali; I have added the Recharge app to my phone.

There is a fire close to Fairbanks and the air is pretty smokey.
Hard to tell from the photo.

At the Rivers Edge look at what we saw in their parking lot.
I did not see the technician, and the van was gone an hour or so later.

There is major road construction before Dawson City. You can see many pieces of equipment that are building a new road but the current traffic is using the original road so is not affecting your travel.

Just before Chicken there was a pickup camper disabled in the middle of the road; another pickup camper was directing traffic so we did not stop. After lunch in Chicken we overheard a discussion where the brother was trying to get a tow truck; yikes, from either Tok (80 miles) or Glenallen (215 miles). You really do not want to break down. On the drive to Tok we did not see any tow truck heading in the opposite direction. Could be a long wait.

Curious if you are carrying a spare tire and jack. Flat tires would be my main concern with a Tesla.
