**** NOTE: We have transitioned to a new platform ****
More Info: Supercharging.Life database

This is a friendly contest for Tesla owners to track the number of unique public Superchargers where they have charged

- "Supercharger count" is the number of unique public Superchargers where you have charged (just being there does not count), whether or not you were the person plugging in the vehicle (such as a Valet Parking garage or a Passenger) and whether or not it was your own personal vehicle (such as a rental, a loaner, or a friend's Tesla) as long as you were the one who drove >50% of the distance to reach the charger(s).
- The list of chargers in the supercharging.life database are the ones included in the game. If you think one should be added or removed from the list, let us know.
- Only chargers available to the public without special permission are included in the game.
- Chargers not connected to the grid are not counted.
- Doublet locations like the North/South Supercharger 'pairs' in CT, ME, NH, etc. count as individual locations.
- More than 1 charger at the same address, such as Lenox Square Mall (Atlanta, GA) or Montgomery Mall (Bethesda, MD) count as individual locations when they appear as a separate location on the Tesla Nav screen.
- Inactive competitors will be archived and removed from the leaderboard. Just post an update to be reactivated.

See Supercharging.Life database for info on how to post your own visits to the database (preferred), or post your locations with date visited to this thread and one of the admins will update your list for you. All visits must be posted to this thread - not just entered in supercharging.life. If you are the first in the game to visit a supercharger location, please post to the thread as soon as you can so others know it has been visited.

As many others did, I did a large roadtrip for viewing the total solar eclipse. I had a vacation request on the books at work for 6.5 years since the last total eclipse happened to make sure I had the time off from work for viewing.

Some of the potential areas that I was targeting for my viewing included: with some relatives in San Antonio, in the Midwest somewhere like SE Missouri, or with some relatives in Vermont. I kept waffling as the forecasts along the path were changing last week. Late on Thursday, I made the final decision to do the trip to Vermont on Friday/Saturday (avoiding travel on the day before and the day of the eclipse), returning on Tuesday/Wednesday. As I was driving through Ohio on Saturday morning, it became apparent that the forecasts showed Missouri would likely be a good place to view. Already on the road and plans made to see family, there was no reason to head back. As I was enjoying time with the family after the eclipse, looking at the traffic on Apple Maps, I was happy to not be trying to make it any anywhere that evening!

One of the memes I saw on Saturday sure seemed like the most accurate forecast for the solar eclipse:

JPEG image-4D81-A2CB-50-0.jpeg

ABRP plan says the round trip should have been something like 3,125 miles, but with supercharger hunting, the roundtrip was 3,590 miles, so 15% extra for the side trips. The car's trip meter said 1,118 kWh at 311 Wh/mi, so not bad for relatively high speed Interstate travel. Being able to complete the travel each day in two days kept me limited on the amount of side trips that I was wiling to take, especially for single stations. After I got back, I saw mention of the potential meetup near Lake Placid, but I had decided to skip that site since it would add an hour for the single site and I really was just stopping for the minimum time necessary with a majority of the stops being less than 5 minutes. I did try to focus on clearing larger cities as I drove through them, but limited the least direct routing.

All in all, a very fun trip. I'm ready for the eclipse cutting across the US in 2045. Weather permitting, that one will only require 30 minutes of travel time and many places will get 5 minutes of totality during the eclipse in 2045. Mark your calendars for August 12, 2045!

It's fun looking at the energy production from the solar panels on the house during the last two total eclipses (only partial eclipses at the house)! The production profiles on both days were almost identical, even though to the naked eye, you couldn't tell there was anything going on here at home.

Continuing our Syracuse/Watertown-Niagara-Pittsburgh trip. The Falls were stunning; we had two near-perfect-weather days. We're now settled in Pittsburgh, catching up with old CMU friends and our daughter at Pitt. Probably no more new chargers on this trip unless we get a surprise opening along our route home.

Dealing with rush hour traffic in Reno made a long day even longer. My wife reached her limit of searching out metro area Supercharger Stations. In line with a trip ok. Wasting time in metro area traffic, not ok. 722 miles to home tomorrow from Winnemucca. The new Salt Lake City one will have to wait until the next trip to Oregon. So, done collecting for this 3680 mile road trip.

Surprised to learn that someone had even worse timing with Klamath Falls than I did! (I was there on Tuesday)

Quick summary.
2818 miles
82.75% efficiency
FSD for all but about 30 miles (due to 1) fog in Mount Pocono, PA and 2) getting put in FSD jail once)
Thursday was an 18 1/2 hour day of hunting, meetings, visiting friends, and NJ traffic jams.

Congrats on 2nd Century. Badge in the mail.
Only 30 to go for the next century. A short trip.
There is no going back after 300, you just have to retire and drive. 😉

Pretty great trip so far. We saw the eclipse, including totality, from our hot tub in Del Rio, Texas. There was quite a bit of cloud cover but we got several clear spots throughout the event.

I know I have a very grateful husband for my cooperation, and I didn’t even use my Veto power on this trip!
Plus, I get to up my count too. 😉

Be safe out there.
