Apple picking with our Model S...

I'll be doing that in 2 weeks. Every October I get about 140 lbs of apples and we don't buy fruit for about 4 months. They keep very well if washed with food grade hydrogen peroxide, then stored in the spare refrigerator.
I think I'll have more than a frunk full though...
I had a couple of Tesla moments today. I'm on the first leg of my first road trip to California. In Portland I passed a Maserati on the freeway. I looked over and he was grinning. After I passed him he sped up, pulled even with me and waved. I waved back.
I also had my first negative Tesla moment. Across the street from the Mt Shasta supercharger was a spectacular view of the mountain. The air was perfectly clear and it was dusk so the low sun was lighting up the mountain. I stopped in the parking lot, out of everyone's way, and took several pictures of the mountain. As i was leaving an SUV was going out the same exit from the opposite direction. Out the back window someone flipped me the bird as they went by. I couldn't have possibly done anything to tick them off.
I also heard what people have talked about with the milling sound. As I was just hooking up at the Springfield, OR SC an older Tesla was leaving and the motor made a horrible electric sound as they pulled away. If they had been coming in I probably would have talked to them about it.
Leg 2 tomorrow, I will pass close to where the car was built in Fremont, but I won't be able to stop. I need to get to Morgan Hill by noon and I'm in Red Bluff now. I'm also using a destination charger for the first time tonight. The Best Western in Red Bluff has two. It's not a fancy hotel, but convenient, has a hot breakfast, and at least one of the destination chargers works fine. They also have an extremely friendly stray cat in the parking lot. Apparently his human died a few months back and he became homeless. Te clerk at the front desk has been trying to find a more permanent home for him.
Three supercharging stops today and I haven't had to wait for the car to charge. At each stop I had something I needed to do (like eat, take care of nature's call, and in one case take a short nap) and the car was ready to go when I was.
