Thanks Benz for the updates on the numbers! Much appreciated. It would be interesting to correlate these numbers to sales numbers. As long as sales and Superchargers roughly match, everything is fine.

Recent email from TM might show some hints of future progress on the east coast for those snooping for new sites. I know they are making good progress and I am glad they respond to requests. Seems part form letter and part tailored which I feel both appropriate and efficient. Hoping that they continue to listen and respond as they grow.
Lexington, VA on I-81 just came online.
Thanks. I saw that and Asheville, NC too ! I think I can now make it to the in-laws house but not sure if that is good or bad LOL
Great thanks. So this is preliminary, and no site has been decided.

"238 new live Supercharger stations in 350 days (in 2015). The average is more than 0.6800 per day (in 2015)". That looks like the going average these days. The average in 2014 was 0.7315 (= 267/365). And that still is extraordinary progress, although the average in 2015 (so far) is lower than the average in 2014.

Another holiday season has verified that it is prudent to use your ICE for travel during this period. Maybe next year awareness will prevail about the use of 'charging slots' for charging.
Sigh
I'm not clear on what you mean by "charging slots for charging", but I am driving my S about 2,000 miles this week and next in California, Arizona, and Utah, and so far no issues with finding Superchargers to charge.Another holiday season has verified that it is prudent to use your ICE for travel during this period. I assume that indicates the chargers are ICEd. There are some located in shopping centres and the parking lots are 100% full during Christmas, so people park in the charging spaces on the premise that "I never see any cars charging, so I can use them". This is just the same as handicapped spaces used to be before heavy fines and towing became the norm.I'm not clear on what you mean by "charging slots for charging", but I am driving my S about 2,000 miles this week and next in California, Arizona, and Utah, and so far no issues with finding Superchargers to charge.
I just wanted to point out that unless you have messed around with the speed multiplier, the speed EV Trip Planner is using is not the speed limit, but rather some average speed of traffic it estimates for that route. You can see the actual speed estimate for any leg by selecting the "Steps" tab. You can modify the speed using the speed multiplier to increase or decrease the speed.
I've heard this from multiple places but doesn't seem true around here. I have to use a speed multiplier of at least 1.25x. If a trip has many turns, then I have to set the multiplier even higher to get to my actual trip time to match the calculated trip time. A better test is just to look at the segment mph for a long highway segment. I'm getting the speed limit.

I'm not sure I completely understood this post. Are you saying that California, land of the most extensive Supercharging network, isn't up to the task during the holidays? That's disappointing. Forget the ICE, stay home
Also, for charging slots, do you mean a reservation system? I apologize in advance if I've missed the charging slots discussion.
No... what I meant by 'Charging Slots' was that they should not be referred to as 'parking' spots - just as gas station pump areas are not.
