FWIW, I'm an Aussie living in San Diego and I own a Model S (P85+). I lurk on this thread from time to time. I'm a semi-retired electronics engineer (read geek), and all I can say is you guys are in for a real treat. The Model S is truly amazing. I've driven all sorts of performance vehicles (I still own a BMW M3), and I still have the "Tesla Grin" every time I drive my Model S. I have solar generation on my house, so the car is quick, quiet, enormous fun to drive and free for me to run!
