Speaking of tyres, I will want to upgrade my 21" tyres to the staggered widths if the car doesn't already have them fitted. I'm guessing this also involves a wider rear wheel. I saw a P85+ the other day with the uniform 21" tyre size and it looked undertyred at the back.

Do any other D buyers have thoughts on this?

When I put in my order for the P85D early June I was told my tyres will be staggered, 265's on back and 245's on front, both 21".

Got confirmation today that my car is on the ship but the ship hasn't left the dock yet. I imagine there's a lot of our cars just sitting on the boat. Oh well at least they're not still sitting on the dock! Received my wall charger on Friday so arranging an electrician to install it soon.

They don't tend to keep ships sat around in port for very long so I would imagine it will be underway within a day or two at most?

There a 4 ships that bring tesla's to australia. The next departure from long beach is on august 3, arrival in sydney august 20. That ship is the mighty cap blanche, the same one that delivered my tesla. The last depature was july 9, and the next august 13.

Paul, do you know the name of the ship that sailed July 9? That might be mine.

Wow!! That is certainly the most unexpected detailed information I could ever imagine. How on earth???

Do tell....

Special secret detective work utilising the full service of the cia and australian special ops...
Indeed it isnt hard if you ask the right question at the right time, join the dots and enrol the services of google.
tesla of course will never confirm or deny.
The ships run on time too, and if you want to get really into it you can watch the arrival into port live on google maps within a ship tracker.

July 9 is the coral bay, due in syd july 30. Note ship trackers only let you view about half a day each side of port, so dont panic if it looks like she's drifting at sea. That same ship then travels onto adelaide aug 4, which is substantially quicker than the tesla road method.

Thanks paulp, that is actually very helpful.... My fear though is that given my production ceased around 18 July 2015, I am going to be sitting around waiting to go on a later ship...in other words, I fear that being loaded onto the Cap Blanche as soon as 3 Aug may be too soon.... With my luck, we are looking at the Cap Passado on 25 Aug 2015 expected around 16 Sep 2015 Sydney time... And that's probably still pushing it. How in the hell does one know when the car is on a ship??

The only way of knowing whether your car is on the ship is to ask your delivery specialist nicely... That's how I found out and I don't see why they wouldn't tell you. It would be very odd if your car wasn't on the same ship as mine given similar build dates.

Wow! That's some great info Paulp, I've seen the numbers of 31 days and 23 days at sea mentioned on her, 17-18 days is a pleasant surprise.

The Guenther Schulte left long beach today bound for australia via NZ. Expected arrival to sydney 19 aug, although it has left port a couple of days late. Its possible this is your ship, as its run by the usual shipping line.
