You get asked to pay when your DS gets around to finalizing things. It doesn't have a tie to delivery dates, except very loosely (you're guaranteed to get it before it's delivered).
Remember the Personal Delivery days when the check was written after the car was delivered to your home, the DS explained the controls and before the key fob was handed over?

Ah, the good old days!

Ah, the good old days!

In my case, the transport driver pulled onto my lane road and unloaded a still-wrapped (mummied) car, and the DS flew down from Chicago to meet us and walk us through it. We unwrapped Tessie in my driveway:

In my case, I had already done a wire transfer, so we eliminated the need for a check. When it had a couple of issues, they flew someone out from California to work on it.

Some different days then - some better, but some quite a bit less mature than today. :)

Those days didn't last long. My dad got his Sig in October 2012 and it was delivered as described. I got my production on January 4, 2013. It was dropped off by a flatbed driver not associated with Tesla without any paperwork and without temp tags. The driver of the tow truck handed me an envelope with the keys and a basic manual and said goodbye.

I had to drive a different vehicle to the DMV to get a trip permit so I could legally drive it. Fortunately I had gotten the VIN beforehand and had purchased insurance so the DMV had all they needed. Did I mention it came at 3:30 on a Friday?

Version 1.4.0

A few tweaks went live today.

  • Some design changes with latest stats on the dashboard (now live instead of manual updates)
  • VIN Assignment and Delivery Stats added (new section)
  • Model X Production and Delivery Statistics by Quarter line chart added (will be updated once per quarter)

Cheers
Paul

Thanks.

Also if anyone has any suggestions for the dashboard, reports, graphs, etc... please let me know. I've finished up another project and now can dedicate some more time to the tracker.

Design ramp going through to current date would be cool.

I'd love to see a line graph of cumulative # with Vin assigned, delivered, etc. (as opposed to the current bar chart) perhaps on the same graph as the officially reported numbers graph, that should give us some sense of the scaling of tracker data with official data.

Would be interesting to create a report that tries to make sense in which order cars are being batched. I'm not sure myself what the best approach for that would be - maybe a first step would be to sort all vehicles by the date on which the VIN was assigned (we could try other dates as well). With this list, we could aggregate the orders maybe on a per-week basis with checkboxes that indicates which options to consider, like:

[X] Drive train [X] Battery size [X] Paint color [ ] Sub-zero package [ ] etc...
Week 50 2015:
2 P90D Obsidian Black
1 P90D Pearl White
Week 51 2015:
1 P90D Pearl White
Week 52 2015:
3 P90D Titanium Metallic
1 P90D Obsidian Black
1 P90D Pearl White

And here the same report again, but this time we don't check the "Paint color" checkbox:

[X] Drive train [X] Battery size [ ] Paint color [ ] Sub-zero package [ ] etc...
Week 50 2015:
3 P90D
Week 51 2015:
1 P90D
Week 52 2015:
5 P90D

This may be completely pointless because we have a very small dataset for vehicles in production, so I don't even know if this is worth it.

This is a set of reports and graphs in the plans. Similar to some of them that are done for the Model S tracking.

I'm looking for a volunteer to help take over the tracker. Its build based on AdminLTE, an open source admin dashboard & control panel template theme. Built on top of Bootstrap 3 and lots of other open source goodies. The backend is PHP/mySQL. The code is in good shape, easy to admin via an admin dashboard and mySQL via phpMyAdmin. The next stage is to flesh out the graphs and reports. The data is just starting to flow as the ramp appears to be coming along. I'm still around and available to help, but rather see someone take it over who is more passionate about the Model X. I've decided to take a new direction in my life in which the X won't be needed anymore.

Hi Paul and Darryl

I tried to log into tracker today but had forgotten password, asked for a password reset, email received but the link brings me back to the request reset of password page.
Am I just being incredibly stupid (occam's razor suggest this is so), or is there a problem with password reset?

Thanks, and apologies in advance if it is me!

After last nights maintenance I tried resetting my password and it worked. PM me your email and I'll check for you. Some accounts were purged (those who registered but never validated their account).

I was originally scheduled to take delivery of my Model X P90D with ludicrous mode in late January but it was delayed because of an electrical module which had to be replaced at the Orlando SC. It took them three weeks to fix the problem

They rescheduled for mid-February. In February during delivery I had inspected the car and found some really minor issues therefore I signed all of the paperwork while they took the car to the shop to fix the issues I had found. Most of the issues were related to molding not properly secured and one scuffed panel in the the third row of seats. I had finished everything but writing the check when they came back and said they had found a cracked charging port and I would not be able to take delivery. I was really disappointed after already being delayed three weeks. I was suppose to be taking delivery of one of the first Production P90DLs made.

My Delivery Experience Specialist (DS) called me last week and said the port and everything else had been fixed. I had also sent them a list of things to check out that I may have not found by just looking at the car, like leaking falcon wing doors and air leaks around front doors. My car was one of the first to come off the production line therefore I wanted to make sure there were no other issues like others have reported on TMC forum. They set the delivery date for Thursday, March 10th.

Today I got another call from my DS, I was sure when I saw where the call was coming from something was wrong. I was pleasantly surprised when they said I could pick up the car early, tomorrow, Tuesday, if I wanted. Of course I said yes. After I pick it up I am taking it to my Detailer to have pain decontamination, clay bar treatment, paint depth and integrity inspection, paint correction and polish. Then they will apply Xpel Pro to front third of car followed by Crystal Serum on whole car along with treatment on carpeting, leather, interior molding and they are going to apply Xpel to the back of the seats. (the back of both the front row and second row have a finish which reminds me of a black piano, very shiny. All it will take is a child kicking it with their feed or just even finger prints leaving marks.). Therefore it needs something to prevent scratches and marring.

It will take about a week for the Detailer to complete this work. Once I get it home I will be applying two coats of EXOv2 ultra to all exterior services. This will add a whole additional level of shine. I have had many comments, some very negative, regarding why have a Detailer do this to a new car. If you ever have a chance to compare a car with this type of work done to a car right from the factory you will understand why it is worth it. Unlike when I had to work, I now usually keep a car at least three to four years. My cars always look brand new just like they have come off the showroom when I go to sell them years later. (Several of you have asked for a recommendation on the Space Coast. I haven't found anyone else I trust locally and have to go to Orlando. I will provide their name and number once I make sure they still do a great job.) Whether my DS opinion is right or not she indicated the paint they have to use at the Tesla factory California doesn't leave as a hard coat as most people are use to. She recommended a wrap for the front bumpers, fenders and mirror. She said if she was buying a Tesla she would be having the work done. Of course I had already arranged for the work before she even mentioned it.

Wish me luck on my third attempt to take delivery.

@Darryl: Enjoy your Model X. Take extra time enjoying the drive before visiting the detailer.

Look at the manufacture date on the door sticker. That will help with knowing how long the paint has been on the vehicle.

All the best and may you enjoy years of safe driving pleasure with Model X.

Good luck on your delivery, may the pain from waiting so long go away! And post some pictures, sounds like the car should look spectacular with all the treatment it gets.

I am bummed today. We finalized our order in early May and it is for a loaded p90D. I looked at the source code for "estimated delivery" and it has been changed in the last few days from "Late March-April" to "Late April-May". My Vin number is in the '900s.

They must not be close to the 250 units a week they were planning to reach this quarter. Had the charger installed a month ago. I could have waited for another 2 months at least. I am not happy.

Sorry for the premature submit

For some reason my correction of the date the order was finalized from early May to early January did not take. One more time....
