Just arrived back to Limerick. Car is a lovely drive now I gotta say, it was 63% charged when I got into it so I could of made it all thr way back but was starving so stopped at the birdhill superchargers.

They didnt replace the rear taillight in the end as the replacement they had in site was scratched, they've asked I put a service request in and they'll call down to the house to replace. Honestly it's not something you'd ever notice unless you're looking like I was - basically with a telescope!. Apologies for the lack of photos lads, it was a bit of a weird set up In there and the light issue sorta took my buzz away for a while, there's also a weird lip on the front bumper that I struggle to describe, like someone's put ppf onto the front end but it's not, Just how it was painted. The guys had never seen this before but looked at the other white cars there and they were all the exact same. No such issue on the he blue or black...

As the above though, you wouldn't notice it unless you're looking dead on and I don't fancy a full bumper respray ( they offered as an option) I'll live with it.
That's great Bandito now you're all sorted... you're an official Tesla owner...great stuff 👍🏼

My collection is booked for a week tomorrow, but as yet still awaiting the contract from Tesla (PCP) to appear on my Tesla account. I would like to be parted from my hard earned cash in a timely manner, or is this normal to be this close to collection?
Not sure whether that’s normal but we were in a similar situation last week and just contacted Tesla by phone and they got it sorted

I'd just put and aftermarket insert... you wouldn't want to wait that long for a scratch...I've already got some carbon fibre steering wheel inserts...looks much better

Wow, didn't know Hyundai and Kia have now entered the premium car market with Ionic 5 and EV6...I'm sure they make good electric cars but will never have the "je ne sais quoi"...hey, don't take my word for it as stats speak for itself, Tesla! most sold EVs for the last few months in UK, Tesla! the most valuable car company in the world beating out Toyota in only a short few years, Tesla! will make Elon Musk the first Trillionaire in the world (not saying that's good but hey)...also, selling loads of Audis and Mercedes over many years didn't put them in the Toyota Prius market so why should Tesla who have entered at the top end of the market...selling cars between 43k to 112k I wouldn't call cheap cars...sad to say the impressions to the public is that Hyundai and Kia will always be cheap brand cars no matter how much tech they put in it...the badge does sometimes speak for themselves!
The only thing premium about Tesla's is the drive train and the charging network. An expensive price doesn't make a 'premium' product. you can order a Tesla model 3 now, get it in 6 weeks time, others can't build theirs fast enough. Most market research shows that the public don't think of Hyundai or kia as 'cheap' brands. I say this as someone who as a new model 3 land in 48 hours.

Congrats Bandito!

Ah-ha explains my failed reconnaissance! I’m sure they’ll dole out a usb stick to you when you’re getting the light fixed?
I'd hope so! I'll give them a call tomorrow to chat about it. They said they won't be out until January, I put a service request in tonight and best date was Jan 4th. Only two mobile service techs in Ireland and both of them are at the drop off centre until December 23rd for car deliveries

Hi folks, newly registered to the forum but have been lurking for months. I just received a text from Tesla stating the following:

"Tesla Update - Congratulations! Your Model 3 is due for delivery on Monday, 20 December. Deliveries are made between 8 am and the end of the day. Please REPLY with your full address to receive confirmation of your delivery. Your order reference is RNxxxxxxxxxx. To unsubscribe from SMS, reply STOP."

This is a company car that I'm getting through zenith - has anyone else had a similar type of text? I was told march delivery but may have gotten lucky!

I tried to reply to the text with my address but I just get a bounce back. Any idea why this might be? My address is definitely correct..
Yep received the same message today for a Saturday delivery.

There's a lot to learn, it's actually pretty daunting tbh. I'm very much a tech guy but I'm now driving a rolling computer. I went to grab my keys from the igniton twice today after parking up 😂

And the software update has been stuck at 50% for the last 6 hours. I've even tried turning it off and on again! 😂

You'll see a few posts on here where guys on certain networks have issues replying to the text, just call customer services with your address and it will all be OK.

Dont kid yourself, its a 6 month wait for a full spec ev6. The model 3 is going to be like the toyota prius. they're selling so many of them.

Both the EV6 and ioniq 5 have a lot of 'je ne sais quoi'.
@Paule
Thats the exec ur thinking of, premium plus is more high end interior and spec only being delivered in Jan. Also apparently the Irish spec is better than the UK spec has full vision roof that makes a nice change 🤣, but I think the UK spec is being upgraded too.

I work in quality and for me quality is the complete experience and the way customers are treated speaks volumes. Tesla will make a mint but in the long term they need to sort this out when it becomes a buyers market (clearly a sellers market) they've had first mover advantage but that won't last. I even see Mercedes is certified L3 autonomous before them.

Enjoy your motoring but line drawn in the sand for me I will never be a Tesla owner I mean they won't even give your deposit back ffs after a possible 7 month wait (shocking)!

Tesla have a lot of positives in tech focus and building their name and being first mover. Savy Business planning and don't be fooled on how close Mr. Musk came to the wire as a start up.
The energy crisis in UK also has helped as well as brexit (cars built in Europe are more expensive). Added to that the chip crisis which again Tesla did very well to insulate themselves from.

In regards high end and luxury its a lot easier to do this in EVs compared to ICE less moving parts and more and more startups. Take lucid for example now that's high end. As chip crisis eases traditional OEM's will catch up also. Add Chinese car makers to this now and the next few years will be interesting. Mr. Musk isn't selling his shares for the fun of it. One more thing when Tesla open up their chargers to other non Tesla cars (started already) that's one massive Tesla selling point removed. Hyundai have great tech and many differentiators (V2L and V2G).
I was on the fence between m3 and ioniq5 last august what swayed it initially was Tesla's quicker delivery which in my case didn't happen.
