The invite came on 03/22/2018 and I ordered the same day. Then my VIN appeared in my account a week later on 03/29/2018. I live in Tennessee.

Just got confirmation of delivery on 4/27 or before (which makes it less than a month from invite to delivery). I was also told that it's on its way to Alabama. They'll offload and test them, and then send them to the various Tesla dealers. One assumes mainly to the Southeast, but I don't really know.

I received my VIN Monday and still haven’t received a call from the delivery specialist. Seems abnormal. Anyone else had a long delay on the call?
I also received my VIN on Monday and haven't heard from mine. I got impatient today, called them and was told that my ISA left me a voicemail and sent me an email on Tuesday. I don't know why they'd lie, but I call BS -- there's no way I'd miss both of those things when I'm checking obsessively every 10 minutes. Hopefully we'll both hear from ours in the next day.

I think that Tesla is solving the production problems and that the new problems going forward is going to be delivery. They don't have a good process for communicating to customers (web site is bad) and they don't really have enough space in a lot of cities to store and then deliver to customers. I think there's going to be some upset customers as they invite more and more people to configure.

Yep, VIN assigned 2/28 and still no call from ISA, even after calling Tesla a few days ago. They need to improve they way they communicate. I don't see how hard it could be to create a script to e-mail a delivery update every few days.
