White on White Interior Waiting is pain

I ordered a white on white Performance 11 days so and still haven’t been assigned a VIN. When we ordered our LR AWD In June, it was delivered exactly two weeks later here in Raleigh NC. Car was built in June and shipped here before tax credit expired. I had really expected the same outcome with the performance, but saw some people were waiting 4 weeks or longer recently.

I found my MVPA with VIN in my account 10 days after the order. 2 weeks from order is tomorrow 8/8 and after a phone call Monday they are telling me sometime next week for delivery. (White/white)

Yep, our first LR AWD was white on white. I settled getting a black on white Performance. I'm taking delivery tomorrow in Charlotte instead of here in Raleigh where I live. In a way I'm glad it will be different than the other one, I just hate paying $750 extra for a non-metallic paint. Oh well. I didn't want to take the risk it would be another 30-45 days to get my car.

From the time the MVPA was in my account (with VIN) to the time I'm schedule to take delivery will be over 1.5 weeks.

From all the threads I have read I now believe the only sure thing is that there is no sure thing. The process seems to be different for everyone.

I’ve now had the car for a week, I absolutely love it and glad my wait is over

I've been searching the entire country's in stock inventory and pretty much every color and combination is available within a day's worth of driving for me. Everything except for white - performance edition.

Good God. It almost seems like Tesla is purposely NOT building this combination for some unknown to God reason(s).

Well this has been a journy to say the least. I started with purchasing a Standard Range Plus with white exterior and white interior. So after waiting about 2 weeks and my delivery specialist stop responding to emails I gave the wife Tesla number to "talk" to them. So my white on white configuration was damage in transit from california to the delivery center. A new delivery specialist called me the same day the wife called and gave them hell and he found a Model 3 SR+ with white interior but Midnight Silver Metallic color in Dania Beach. So after some looking at photos of the MSM color I decided to jump on it. So I will be leaving you all for MSM sorry.

I actually left MSM for white, wasn't the biggest fan of how the white interior looked with the MSM.

Ah, so you do have the white interior then - I wasn’t sure. I think I’ve only seen you pass by once (before I had mine) and couldn’t tell if you had the white or black interior.

I imagine there will be more soon. I see another white M3 on my drive to work downtown each morning as well now

Yup, white on white config as well with the 19" sport wheels. It was an anxious time waiting after I placed my order back in May but definitely worth the wait! I was able to take delivery with just a few days left before June 30t.

I'd say the more the merrier! I'm actually in the process of enticing our neighbor to buy a Model 3, I'm giving them test drives this weekend .

Ordered a white on white M3, SR+ with the white interior being the only "upgrade" on August 6. We'll see how long this takes. On Friday (8/9), when I inquired about timing was told:

Your configuration is our most popular configuration, so we do expect it to take about a week or two in order for us to have a VIN assigned to your reservation.

So, we shall see. This was an unplanned purchase following an accident where the insurance company decided to total my car (which in retrospect I wish I had fought). Thankfully I have a mechanic that is letting me continue to use the loaner car at no charge.

I suspect I received my VIN about a week after order because it may have already been built. 7/25 order - long-range AWD no FSD.

spoke to a rep on the webpage and he/she said could be longer than the original 2 weeks

Ordered my LR AWD white/white 18s on July 23rd. Just got a 8/27 delivery date today. Wasn’t expecting a month long wait, but oh well. It’ll be worth it.

White/white with 19s: 7/25 order, 8/14 delivery. This is not the first Ive read of white/white with 18s taking 4 weeks.... or more.

Spoke to someone yesterday and they said that ever since they switched their base color to white, they have been out and need to be restocked. That is for both black and white interiors.
