Why do you think solarcity revenues will decline from $123M to $103M in Q3? There was a re-launch of the solar panels in the middle of the quarter. Any significant bump in this would wipe out the projected $28M loss.

I don't think overestimating Model 3 by 9% is bad. The 14K S/X estimate was bad. How did you derive that figure and do you plan to use a different tactic for Q4?

50-60% more leased vehicles helps with margins too. I wonder how much uptake there was for the solar panels.

Which begs the question, why does it even matter if it is 97K or 100K if it is almost a round error? In any case, Tesla delivered around 300 more cars in Q2 than they initially estimated.

Leased S/X have jumped from 10 to 15% of sales. M3 jumped from 5 to 8%. Initial recognized revenues from leased vehicles are around half of straight sale vehicles. However, gross margin is 49% vs 17% (leased vs sale). $5.17B in sales. $4.25B in of sales. $0.208B in lease sales...

To be honest, I would much rather have 17K S/X with 97K deliveries than 14K S/X with 100K deliveries. The latter would have destroyed any possibility of a profit in Q3 and would indicated a very severe weakness in S/X in future quarters.

Interesting how divergent his estimates are from insideevs. Troy estimates 7,556 for the US while insideevs estimates 5,075 in July and August alone with an additional 4,475 if September matches June. I think troy is pulling is estimate from his spreadsheet. We will see who is right...

Teslike Model 3 Survey #1 Sorting by delivery date, it looks there are 253 deliveries entered so far in September vs 283 in June. It looks like my fears of a slow US September was unfounded. There was an uptick in US deliveries in July and August. Europe numbers are massive thanks to the...

    Thanks. So 15,902 S/X and 73,312 M3 straight sales. $5.16B in non-lease revenues. 73,312@50K=$3.66B. 15,902 S/X @$94480 = $1.50B. That works out much better. Thanks. Conversely, total lease revenues were $0.21B. 1820s+4322m=$208,326,000 yields a line that hits $50,000 and...

I'm going to predict 88,000 Model 3s and 15,000 S/X. Model X numbers will be steady while there will be a significant decline in Model S. Conversely, the ASP of Model 3s will go up because of more AWD Performance models being sold (cannibalizing model S sales). W223 is coming out...

The trend is more important than the absolute numbers. The survey is self-selecting towards harder core enthusiasts. I don't think there are twice as many orders for the performance model than SR+ in Q3. I do think there is a trend of more performance models in Q3 than in Q2.
