Model S - Door handle presenting, but the door will not open!

Hey Gents, I also have a 2022 Model S Plaid with this same issue. It presented itself for the first time tonight. I’ve opened a service ticket and have an appointment next Tuesday. Have either of you guys been able to get this resolved?

Plaid Drag Racing - Not such a great night

Did you get any passes in with the plaid?

Plaid Drag Racing - Not such a great night

I forgot about the passenger.. 😅😅. She kept it together real well, given the circumstances.

Plaid Drag Racing - Not such a great night

Yeah I saw that too, balls of steel on that guy. Did you happen to catch his time?
  6. MrSlowEv

Plaid Drag Racing - Not such a great night

I agree 100%. I also feel that at times Tesla has “over sold” some of their products. So it would not surprise me if they elected to make the claim of the car trapping 155mph based on formulas/equations. I’m not saying it’s impossible but I personally haven’t seen one doing it yet, in the stock...

Plaid Drag Racing - Not such a great night

In the factory configuration, not to my knowledge. But there are some that claim it is possible in theory.. I’m more of “real world result” kind of guy though..

MYP accelerated rear inner tire wear like MS Plaid - Texas example - check yours

You’re absolutely right. I just fact checked it to verified it. I will shut up now. My apologies. Thank you for the correcting me.

MYP accelerated rear inner tire wear like MS Plaid - Texas example - check yours

Believe it or not, it does work like every other Macpherson strut style suspension in the world. This is very elementary knowledge. It’s even pretty well known on this forum too. There are aftermarket adjustable camber arms available that are tried and proven to extend the rear tire life of the...

MYP accelerated rear inner tire wear like MS Plaid - Texas example - check yours

That inner edge wear pattern is indicative of negative camber as most of the vehicle’s weight is riding on the inner edge of the tire. Excessive toe (positive or negative) will create a “feather” type of wear pattern across the surface of the tire as the tire “scrubs” across the road surface...

    First Cybertruck Accident?

    I hope this wasn’t a steer-by-wire failure..

car is broke after holiday update anyone else have issues?

I just can’t see a motor or inverter failure affecting your park sensors, as shown in the video you posted. These systems seem unrelated. I very well could be wrong, as I don’t have any mechanical/technical experience on this car line. My opinion is that it’s an issue involving the software update.

I love my model s plaid!!!

I can appreciate the demon for what it is. Dodge did well by producing a drag ready car that can wheelie right off the show room floor. It sounded great too. Seems like a fun a car to drive.

I love my model s plaid!!!

Yeah, I found that interesting as well.

I love my model s plaid!!!

Anyone else catch this video from Dragtimes? Dodge’s new dedicated drag car, the Demon 170 vs The Plaid? This reminds me of the reason why I bought a plaid. They so consistently quick, even on a slow pass. Gotta love our 5 seater EV. These Demon 170’s wouldn’t stand a chance at a stop light...

Anyone bought the track package for a daily driver?

The Plaid stock brakes don’t have the initial “bite” when I hit the brake pedal that I am used to from my previous performance cars at higher speeds. I’ve heard that the track pack brakes address this, on top of the obvious better cooling. Is this something that one of you guys that have been...

    500 mile range? LOL

Yes. And NOT having a “gas station” on every corner when TOWING with the cyber truck would be less of an issue, if they were able to meet 500 mile range that was mentioned years ago.

Confused with suspension settings (Plaid 2023)

Yeah, I always have mine set to the stiffest as well. When I do some driving with the fam, I get complaints from wifey about the ride quality. I get what she means in that it gets more uncomfortable than any of our previous cars on rough roads. I got the plaid for performance anyway, but if I...

Confused with suspension settings (Plaid 2023)

I’m still struggling myself to find a ride quality setting for rough roads that is the most comfortable. I’ll try this one out. What are others using?

Plaid Drag Racing - Not such a great night

Yes, that has been my experience as well. My last couple cars attracted those types of cars pulling along side me, and this one deters them.. the word has gotten out. The plaid is in a different league.
  23. MrSlowEv

Plaid Drag Racing - Not such a great night

I think that you can convince us, if you can reference a real world 1/4 mile pass at high altitude, where a plaid in the “stock” show room configuration trapped a 155mph in the 1/4 mile. Do you provide us with this evidence to support your claim?

Plaid Drag Racing - Not such a great night

I had a similar experience with my plaid about a month ago at the local drag strip. It was about 60 degrees when we started in the evening, and as the temperature dropped as it got later, I watched my 60ft times gradually get worse which ultimately lead to worse ETs. During this track outing, I...

HW4 and Center Horn on 2023 Model S?

He doesn’t need to own one to know if it would be an issue for him. Just like many of us see features on other cars, and determine they are issues for us, so we elect not to purchase it. It’s all personal preference.

2023 plaid x high speed hard braking stability issue

It’s odd that there are wires exposed on the harness for the sensor. I also can’t tell what that strand is that is sticking out of the wire harness. I would think that if one of those wires are broken that there would be a DTC stored for it and you would be getting warnings. Have you ever gotten...

Any high mileage Plaids with 50k+ miles?

what are you trapping with a 1.6 60ft? I’m asking for a comparison to my own vehicle. Thanks in advance.
  28. MrSlowEv

I love my model s plaid!!!

Yeah, I saw that video as well. I didn’t realize the sapphire also had better tires than the plaid. I too would like to see that comparison. It was pretty cool to see both EV Luxury sedans beat the GT3RS in that 0-150-0 test though.

2023 plaid x high speed hard braking stability issue

The only issue you will have when bringing it into the service center is that they will not take your car over the speed limit to duplicate your concern. They will only check the braking operation at the maximum legal speed limit on the freeway because it’s a major liability. Just want to give...

Thanks for posting this. Great pics.. that build quality.. yikes!

I love my model s plaid!!!

You said that the race pack was made those who hot lap their cars at a race track and that the kit is not for “daily driving” which is done on the street.. We can simply agree to disagree.

I love my model s plaid!!!

    Well said.

I love my model s plaid!!!

You literally said it right here. No one is dumb enough to make that mistake on purpose. You’re messing with me. Hahaha. Kudos. Keep waiting on that local newspaper article. Make sure you check.. every. Single. Day. 😄

I love my model s plaid!!!

That 161mph I did was with one of my previous ICE cars. Now, I need to get this one out to a half mile event. It feels like those events are far few in between out here.
  37. MrSlowEv

I love my model s plaid!!!

That’s amazing that this car will hit 180mph without the limiter on it in the half mile.. the last time I went to one of those events, I only hit 160 (with my last car) and I felt that at any moment some thing could let go.. 😂
  38. MrSlowEv

I love my model s plaid!!!

In your opinion, the brake kit isn’t designed for use on the street, but the car comes with 1020hp.. Other car manufacturers put these types of brake kits on cars that make less power and weigh less, right off the show room. As was stated before, there are reputable car magazines and car...

I love my model s plaid!!!

I’m not sure if you read my comment above but I mentioned having a good tires on the car being necessary as well. I guess that’s one thing we can agree on. There are a few car reviewers on YouTube that have tested out the track brake package, and say the feel the difference in bite when on the...

I love my model s plaid!!!

We didn’t buy model s plaids to drive them like short range model 3’s. Maybe you should consider trading in your plaid for one?
  41. MrSlowEv

I love my model s plaid!!!

Lol, I easily hit 130mph entering the freeway on a freeway on ramp near my house on a few occasions. It’s to the point now that I let off 3/4 the way up the on ramp so I don’t have to shed 60mph to get back to down to the speed of traffic. These brakes have no bite to them. It’s one of those...

    S Plaid couldn’t pull on 16X P100D

Numbers don’t lie. The 1/4 mile trap speeds on both cars tell the story of what would happen if he was in plaid mode, full throttle and you guys went from a roll race at freeway speeds. But like LT4 said, glad you are feeling good about your X.
  43. MrSlowEv

I love my model s plaid!!!

Ive had a couple oh **** moments on the street where those big ceramic brakes would’ve come in handy. The car gets up so quickly, I think those brakes are necessary on a car at this power level that weighs this much unless you get it to put around. I assumed he was talking about test driving a...

I love my model s plaid!!!

Yeah, it’s pretty ridiculous that they don’t come with the track package brake on it.. if you’re going to order a 2023, they come with upgraded brake pads from my understanding. I’m curious to know how much better those are than what I have on my 2022. When I test drove a model s plaid with the...
  45. MrSlowEv

I love my model s plaid!!!

I’ve never heard of it, I’ll look into it for sure. I may need to upgrade the brakes before I do anything on a road course though.

I love my model s plaid!!!

Since you come from a 1/4 mile racing background, you can truly appreciate what this car does and how well it does it. It’s truly a marvel. I love how Versatile the car is. I have a 3 year old and 6 year old, so we have car seats permanently installed in the rear seats. My wife drives the car...

That’s literally me right now or Anytime anyone asks about range based on my driving habits.

I love my model s plaid!!!

So that’s actually a more complicated answer than you think. There’s a lot going on in the power train on the software side of it. In the video I attached around 4:35 they talk about how the lucid has three motors rated for 600 each so collectively, solely based on this the car could make 1800hp...
