How are Europeans liking Model 3?

Took delivery three days ago and I'm as happy as can be. Great car. No issues significant enough to make me want to complain. Only annoying thing is arriving after a nice long drive and having to exit and leave the car parked.

Why is Black the least popular color?

Color preference tends to vary by region for some reason. In Europe, black is the most popular color for Model 3 by quite a substantial margin. The first thing I noticed in Californian traffic was the high percentage of white cars. I ordered my Model 3 in black. Classic European move.

Found a LOT of Model 3's in a Tesla lot - Pictures inside

U sure those are Model 3? I can't tell. The picture shows ro/ro car carrier Opal Ace. To my knowledge that one was last seen at pier 80 in May 2018, probably shipping Model S and X to non EU international markets.

Older picture. Most likely not Model 3, definitely wrong ship.

First boatload of M3 to Europe

The Glovis Captain is now docking at Pier 80 in San Francisco where Tesla is reportedly staging vehicles for shipping. No idea how fast they will be loading but theoretically it can be done in a few hours. The remaining question is whether the Glovis Captain will head to Europe or China. I'm...

    Model 3 Rear Ended

The car that hit you is one weird looking Tesla. I'd almost say it's not a Tesla but as we all know from reading news, only a Tesla will hit stationary objects.

Closing the console lid too rough warning?

There's no wire. It's the neural net watching you through the cabin camera getting tired of you fumbling with the console lid.

Well that was an interesting way of telling people

Congrats. Will you pay 1000 $ extra for a wedding dress in multi-coat white or just go with black?

Fair point. I did hear before that traditional manufacturers provide better service in hell.

Why I am fine with my revised invitation window

Can confirm this for Switzerland. I guess all of LHD Europe got pushed to 2019. This comes as a surprise to me as I thought they would try to get out as many LR PUP cars early and therefore at some point favor international markets over domestic SR non PUP sales.

Ugh, that alcantara headliner is sooo 2017.
  16. souslik

[POLL] Do you care about Telsa's headliner material change?

Missing the option "I'm so desperate I might knit myself a pair of alcantara wing mirror covers." (You know, there's always a missing option. It's the law.)
  17. souslik

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

As a communications professional I think Tesla just underestimated how important the headliner material is to some people or how much people feel screwed over by a change in material. They probably thought people wouldn't care that much. And sure, many won't. But some do and they make themselves...

    Pictures of production Model 3s

Red German license plates always begin with a zero though. Also it's definitely not the same plate as on the one spotted in Bavaria shortly before. Because of this and because Norway isn't exactly around the corner from Bavaria, I'm thinking maybe Tesla operates a small fleet of test vehicles in...

    What was the smaller semi???

If I'm not mistaken, European trucks are about the same height, but can be longer and way heavier than US trucks. So I don't think the gray one is designated for the European market. They are probably just two test beds to evaluate different versions and options.

M3OC's In-Depth Look Video (1:10hr long, very thorough)

It's mandatory in some regions. Cars with bright headlights have to adjust the front headlights automatically and they need headlight washers. For not so bright cars it's sufficient to adjust the light manually.

M3OC's In-Depth Look Video (1:10hr long, very thorough)

I consider myself a hardcore tesla fanboy and I agree with @Phrixotrichus. While the interior concept is great, lots of details are somewhat sub-class. Maybe one league below, not several. And I find it especially true around the back seats. My current car is less expensive than the Model 3 but...

Porsche’s Mission E caught testing alongside Tesla vehicles

No, this one looks like a fairly new brothel. There's still lots of things I don't like about the Lambo interior. I guess I'm just not a fan of Italian interior design and the Model S prototype dash looks very italian, like Alfa Romeo where you have to stare into a long tube to see the...

Why not make the cards smaller?

Good luck placing him on the center console for the next step. Model 3 hast so much legroom, the sensor actually is at ass height..

Why not make the cards smaller?

Not really thrilled about that trend. If there's one thing much less convenient than carrying a wallet it's holding your dog against the B pillar every time you want to unlock your car.

Porsche’s Mission E caught testing alongside Tesla vehicles

Seriously? It's so over the top with all that suede and stitching. Like one of those older sports cars that still look nice on the outside but like an old brothel on the inside. I find the production S and X to be much more modern than the prototypes. To each his own.

    Pictures of production Model 3s

There are some minor issues but I'd say they are acceptable. Sometimes cars that have been produced for years have slight panel issues. Note that panel gaps are usually wider around doors, hoods and trunk hatches, while bumper panel gaps are fairly narrow. So the differences in the encircled...

    Pictures of production Model 3s

Plot twist: AWD Model 3 has an electric motor integrated into each wheel. What you see is a part of the new open transmission. This setup allows for easy lubrication as well as fast conversion of RWD to AWD and vice versa. It also allows Model 3 customers in cold parts of the world to more...

Porsche’s Mission E caught testing alongside Tesla vehicles

It is weird because that camouflaged car just looks a lot like a Panamera. But if they used a Panamera body as a disguise why would they change so many details like creases in door panels? Doesn't make sense either.
  32. souslik

The Model 3 steering wheel poll!!!

Yo there's a big shiny T at the center. It'll burn your eyes out when you casually drive away from explosions. Having now looked at car interior pictures for half an hour i can't help thinking how weird steering wheels look in general. Crazy to have such an atrocity in a modern car. I want a...

Volvo, following Tesla, doesn't beat EV with ugly stick

I was referring to Volvo. In their June/July announcements they talked about "electrifying" their cars with a range from light hybrids to BEVs. Back then they also talked about "electrified" cars with their newly announced Polestar brand. But you're right of course, now with the announcement of...

Volvo, following Tesla, doesn't beat EV with ugly stick

I think they deliberately play with the wording "electric car". Just look at the title and text of their July press release.
  35. souslik

Porsche’s Mission E caught testing alongside Tesla vehicles

Pretty sure this is not a Panamera body but the actual production Mission E design. Just look at the concept car. That was nothing near a production design. It had no hood, no trunk, weirdly hinged full sized suicide doors, incomplete lighting. A flashy show car, nothing else.
  36. souslik

Volvo, following Tesla, doesn't beat EV with ugly stick

They didn't. They just said all their future cars would be electrified. I think they even mentioned mild hybrids.

They should consider factory tint for international markets. I would gladly pay for it

No AM Radio on 3 (Like the X)

Yeah, analog radio is already or soon to be dead in Europe. But the US doesn't have DAB (terrestrial digital broadcast), so I guess FM is there to stay for a little bit longer. What can we expect in regards of DAB+ radio in Model 3? Do European Model S and X have it?

Amazed at all the 'disappointment ' threads

Kinda agree you have to be a fanboy to have been impressed by the event. The car though, totally different story. I bought and am driving a European car in that price range. What the Model 3 offers is extremely compelling from the base model up to the fully optioned vehicle. Also, in my opinion...

    Model 3 Center Display

Interesting, but I'm the complete opposite. Never had an analog watch and it takes me more time to read an analog display. I have to convert it, much like a foreign currency. Maybe you should buy TSLA stock instead of a M3?

Glad I couldn't afford a roadster in 2010 and therefore had to invest in TSLA at IPO day. Sad I sold most of the stock at prices way lower than where they are today.
