Apparently the MMD got too predictable.

No app connectivity until I reboot with both scroll wheels

Seems similar to an issue I've had since like November of 2022 on my MYP (purchased in Dec '20). It's very had to get status on the car, and voice commands effectively never work. After many rounds of "wait for new SW" I had a tech keep it for 3 days, (tear it apart looking for damaged wires and...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I would guess that it wouldn't be so easily spotted as a Cybertruck. Especially if they are mostly testing the internals- it could be in a model 3 or y looking car.

SpaceX Starship - Integrated Flight Test #2 - Starbase TX - Including Post Launch Dissection

They need all 6 engines - more thrust means less gravity loss while fighting out of the well. Additionally, only the central 3 sea level raptors can gimbal (steer). Long term the plan is actually 6 R-Vacs and the 3 gimballing sea level engines. Again, more thrust for lower gravity losses and...

At least in a house, you can't (legally) put a NEMA 14-50 on a circuit rated for less than 50A. If you put a 50A receptacle on there you must expect loads of 50A.
  7. D

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

    That's a NEMA 14-50. So 50A at 220 (or 240?) plus those are 15/20A 120V outlets.

So now that we've tapped the lower BB, we can recover to the 50 day MA, right? right?

People are thinking the split in GVWR is due to the extra motor.... based on the initial info, it's pretty likely that the difference in GVWR between the dual and tri is actually because of the bigger pack(many pounds) not the 3rd motor(150lbs?).

ooo that would be nice if it were electrochromic. Make it super dark on a hot sunny day but nearly clear at night or in winter. Some types, at least, only use electricity while transitioning, so a huge win for climate control needs. No idea if it works from a cost or vibration tolerance...

No, not once have I heard an ad - but I don't use TuneIn. I use the default streaming (Slacker??), Bluetooth, or Apple. none have ads. If you are getting ads it's from the provider, not from Tesla. In your case Oracle is paying TuneIn to interrupt your day with an ad. I'm very sure Tesla got...

Sorry for continuing off topic here... Yes, Uhaul is pretty much the exception (and you pay $0.60/mile). However try getting a crew cab to bring passengers from Uhaul or try getting something that can tow from Hertz, Budget, Avis, Enterprise, Alamo, Dollar, Fox, National, Sixt, Thrifty, etc.
  14. D

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Also not to mention it's actually really hard to find a rental that's equipped for towing (tow hitches are typically removed even if stock and definitely not wired for brake controllers) and even then you're probably uninsured and violating your rental agreement.

As far as I can tell GM did not make $22B last year. It was 9.9B or 14.5 EBIT adjusted. Should only the ~50k UAW employees get a huge raise or should the whole ~167k employees get a raise? If you gave everybody that 80k, now you're at 13.4B of salary increase instead of 4B, bringing profit to...

The x plaid is a crazy deal right now. As soon as you add anything to the "base" x it loses the tax credit, so the difference in price for a plaid x vs a 6 seat non-plaid is only $3500. That's mighty cheap for an extra motor, extra 350hp, torque vectoring, and 1.3 second faster 0-60.

Re: S and X demand, another factor is ridiculous trade in values. My parents wanted to trade in their raven X on a new s plaid to take advantage of the fsd transfer, but they removed the partial (6yr?) unlimited supercharging and were only offering a trade value of 35k for their X with 44k...

I wonder if this is using the first-gen structural 4680s or if it's just dropping in a 80kWh pack of 18650s. Also wondering if the ground clearance with air suspension plus a hatch can get it an suv rating for the 80k cap. (Probably not)

I'm currently on a road trip and yesterday one leg of my trip was Casper to Sheridan WY. This is only 154 miles, but its across a windy prairie. Between the quite strong headwind, hills, and 100 degree heat, I ended up needing to draft a semi truck going anywhere about 60 mph despite an 80mph...

I hope ford dealers all need to install Tesla superchargers. They'll need to when Ford goes to NACS. Right? Seems like that'll help in places like Montana (and maybe Alaska) where there are a lot of Ford dealers but not many chargers.

While I certainly wish I'd exited at in to 400s and eaten the tax burden, I don't see how buying into JEPQ does what you say - Google finance only has it back to may of 22, and it's down 5% not up 13%. I'll admit being down 5% while making a dividend sounds great since November of 2021, but...

Actually one issue i have with FSD Beta is that it seems to make my voice commands virtually never work. Is this just me? It used to be a cool demo for people new to Tesla- but now it's frankly embarrassing.

The release notes for 11.4 give me hope since the majority of my interventions and disengagements are thing like darting into a 100% bus only lane or moving into the far right lane to "follow route" with a left turn coming.
