i think this would be much easier to answer if I’d driven one. I’m in AZ, and don’t have to pay sales tax on private party car purchases. Makes things a bit more affordable
I’ve already had multiple offers at $43k... so i know I’m not too far off. Used Model 3’s seem to sell like hot cakes right now... and mine doesn’t even have AP activated at all
I have a 2018 Model 3 - LR RWD, and have been thinking about upgrading to an ‘18-‘19 P3D. I’m not concerned with the loss in efficiency range. I purchased mine just over a year ago for $44k, and should still be able to get close to that number today.
With preowned P3D’s selling for low 50’s...

After reading that entire thread, it sounds like issues with the 90kw packs are almost inevitable after age and a certain number of WOT runs. I wonder if it's a vocal minority in the thread though, and if the V3 packs are truly holding up well?
I’m looking at picking up a refresh 2016 Model S, and the performance of the P90DL seems really attractive..been seeing them priced with 30k miles-ish for low to mid 60’s. I’m questioning though if the aging electronics/potential battery issues on the 90 still make it a decent value when...
A P85 is more equivalent to a 75D now. Which you can now buy used, from Tesla, with a full warranty for $45k. Makes it a much better deal than repairing an out of warranty P85 (spending $10K)
i still plan to go with the used P85 from tesla though
Thank you everyone. Tesla charged the car to 100% and said the rated range is 249 miles. It’s fully covered for another two years, and i don’t plan on keeping it after. I’m in AZ, so no concern of salt or other snow related issues. It’s a 1 owner car and seems to be in excellent condition...
I’m looking at a loaded 2014 P85 with AP1, 21’s, 45k miles for $44k from Tesla. Includes the 2 year full warranty and battery/drive unit until end of 2022. Seems like a decent value for the money. I plan to drive it for a year then get a 100D.
As the car gets closer to end of warranty...
I didn’t read all 50 pages from the 85kwh software update thread, but i have a feeling this is more broad then 85’s. My long Range Model 3 lost 20 miles in range after the update around the same time frame.
I just got a call from Tesla that they charged it to 100% overnight, and the battery is at 248 miles of rated range. It’s a single owner P85 with every option including AP1, and seems to be in overall great shape. Selling for just under $44K from Tesla with 2 year bumper to bumper warranty, and...
I’ve been reading about Tesla’s OTA updates limiting the 85kwh cars, and reducing range overnight. I found a 2014 P85 I’m interested in, but am questioning if i should avoid all 85kwh cars given the current battery-gate/charge-gate/etc?
Is it as widespread as it appears on here, or limited...
I’ve been on the hunt for a 2017+ 100D, but haven’t found exactly what I’m looking for. I did come across a CPO - 2014 P85 with AP1, loaded with 45k miles for $43k. Does this sound like a decent deal? Wanting it to hold me over until i find a 100D.
I have an 18’ Long Range RWD Model 3, and as many others have reported, i experienced a loss of range after an update a couple months back. Up until the update my 90% charge was about 280 miles, but it has fallen to 260-265.
After the v10 update, i did notice 90% charge/range increase back to...
don’t listen to the broke dopes who frequent this site. I sold a similar spec Model 3 for the same price. You have a lot of bottom dwellers here trying to get something for nothing.
Anyone notice range improvements since updating to v10? I know a number of people (myself included) took a decent projected range hit on the past two updates. Curious if it’s been fixed.
thank you for the details. I’ll stop in to my local service center tomorrow to see what the deal is.
fortunately tesla policies now allow for a full refund of the $2500 deposit and no charge on shipping fees if i decline the vehicle.
thank you for this.
so are you saying tesla support misinformed you that the car was uncorked when in fact it wasn’t capable? Doesn’t give me much confidence in asking them if this was the case.
Someone at tesla should be able to confirm based on my VIN if the car is capable or not right? I’m...
just read through this whole thread, and found it very useful.
I have a 2016 75D inbound currently, which was marketed and sold as a 4.2sec 0-60 car. How can i validate prior to delivery that I’m actually getting what i think i am?
the car is badged as a 70D, which was updated to a 75D at...
Yes the $2500 is fully refundable, at any time prior to you accepting the car. What I’m curious about is if the transportation fees get waived as well if you reject a car upon delivery? My advisor says yes, but it doesn’t state it anywhere.
I also think Tesla is going to run into regulatory issues with full self driving cars, which will need to be addressed before turning the feature on. I still don’t get why everyone pays for vapor ware without any concrete dates.
Just curious what to expect when buying a used car from Tesla? I put down a deposit on a used car last week, and haven’t heard anything yet. It’s going to need to be shipped cross country, and i wanted to ask some questions about it before moving forward.
I guess my question is.... tesla sells a number of 60 cars that are uncorked. Isn’t it possible this car was born as a 70D, and after being traded in, they uncorked it to a 75D without upgrading the badges?
I would never list my car here, which is unfortunate due to the exposure this site receives. Just too many tire kickers, or people trying to get something for nothing. Better to focus your efforts selling locally to qualified buyers.
What would be a good list of questions to ask the advisor before i have them ship the car out to me? Also curious how long it generally takes them to coordinate shipment of a vehicle from coast to coast and actually finalize/deliver the car?
Have them confirm AP1 or 2?
Can i push for month...
You, and many others from this forum are disillusioned to the actual price cars sell for in the real world. I have a similar Model 3 for sale, and have received offers 10-20% higher from local buyers than the prices people think are “fair” in here.
This site is a great place to score a deal...
