Cannot arrange insurance as I don't have a registration number, which seems rather silly!

It's perfectly possible to get a quote without a reg number, assuming the Insurer can find the make and model of the car on their system. You can then provide your Insurer of choice with the reg number when you get it. I've done that a number of times - most recently last week in anticipation of the arrival of my new car.

At last - one more lock to go....

For those wanting to know about if their Model S/X was on Safmarine Mafadi, please google vedaprime tracking

TMC terms prevents me from posting anything further (others can post, just not the provider) . I can provide a long list of data points from Fremont, all load/unload points and port unload/exit times - until Tilburg.

I cannot track by vin for a Model 3

GLOVIS SIGMA has updated her AIS to confirm the Zeebrugge ETA of 12 Sep.
The Zeebrugge port schedule has her down to arrive at 00:01 on 12 Sep and depart at 16:00 the same day.
As I pointed out before this is very ambitious and would require a very fast transatlantic crossing however the ship's AIS is stating an arrival time of 22:00 on 12 Sep. If this is in Zulu time, this would represent an arrival 24hrs later than the Zeebrugge port schedule - it is however far more realistic. On that basis I have revised my estimate for her Southampton arrival to 14 Sep at the earliest.

It’s a veritable flood of cars coming in from all angles in the last 6 weeks of this quarter ! Brilliant to see how it’s stepped right up since Covid happened. And departing from multiple US locations too it would seem.
Yep it's almost a repeat of last year's Q3 - they did exactly the same - 6 ships from Pier 80 and one from the East coast.
Q4 could be interesting since last year we had no less than 8 ships. With Model Y now in production at Fremont it will be a challenge to beat last year's figures, unless of course ........

If you are waiting for MODEL S or Model X

Although Model S and Model X are made in the same factory as the Model 3 their delivery journey to you is markedly different.

Both Model S and X are shipped partly assembled in containers (3 to a container).

They are moved by road from the factory to the Oakland Joint Intermodal Terminal where they are loaded on to a train.

The train then takes about 9 days to travel to Houston. (actually BNSF Pearland).

The containers are then moved by road to the dock at Barbers Cut where they are then loaded on to a scheduled container ship that eventually arrives 15 days later in Rotterdam (Note: Although the ships have a scheduled stop in Antwerp your containers are unloaded in Rotterdam).

There the containers are moved by road (or barge) to Tilburg in Holland. Your car is removed from the container and then joins a mini production line where it is reassembled. It is then moved to Zeebrugge and shipped to Southampton.

As can be seen, all this takes time.

Finding your car in this complex logistics chain is difficult but there is a man who can. @Vedaprime is the specialist in this area. You can find him here but he normally resides on Twitter.

Ships for possible Model S and Model X shipments are:

MAERSK MONTANA arrived Rotterdam 3 Aug

Where’s RCC Asia off to. My tracking app has her heading upstream towards Antwerp?
RCC ASIA has indeed departed Zeebrugge heading for Antwerp.
This probably means that she fully unloaded at Zeebrugge and is no longer chartered to Tesla.
She is still scheduled to arrive in Southampton on Friday however this is probably not on Tesla business and is unlikely to have any Tesla cars onboard.
Any cars that were onboard destined for the UK will now be on the dock at Zeebrugge and waiting to be loaded on to the next ship to the UK - GLOVIS SIGMA.
