Am I going to regret the aero wheels?

someone here mentioned the aero caps look like hubcaps and I couldn't shake that sentiment after that. I ended up ordering the aero wheel cap kit and am really happy I did--these wheels underneath look awesome! Now I'd recommend definitely removing them and just going with the wheel cap kit.

My $.02 - black and the grey both look pretty good with the Aero wheels. (I may yet switch back to the Aero - but for now I am holding out with the 19)
I got a quote of $135 per wheel from Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist and, as I understood it, the tires would be mounted and balanced and on the car when completed. There are a lot of new wheels for another $30 per wheel but you have to add shipping, mounting, balancing, etc.

I get my model 3 in a few days. First look at the aero wheels and I thought no way ugly. My wife thought the same and so we switched to the 19" sports wheel. Lol, after reading more I learned I could take the aero covers off and the wheel looks great and with the $50 cap cover, it's would be a no brainer. And as others have said, you can take the covers on and off for better range. Oh well, should have read more about it and saved $1500. The 19" wheels do look great and at this point, not sure how much long range driving we will do. My wife commutes 70 miles daily to work so we will have more than enough range for her daily commute. We have a very comfortable Kia Sorento for longer road trips. But we will see. Looking forward to our new car!

Can anyone comment, who have both sets of wheels, whether the ride is noticeably softer or less bumpy with the 18 in aeros vs the 19 in sport wheels?

I've only driven P3D with 20" wheels. The ride was surprisingly smooth - I thought for sure the car drove like it was on 18's. But I don't have anything to compare it to.

Wonderful, just don't know how the car will do for longer road trips. We will likely do trips to Portland which is about 170 miles with a Supercharger along the way. Looking forward to getting it on 8/10.

That’s a slam dunk for Tesla....piece of cake. No reason to take the other car, assuming the 3 has enough room in it.

If you have range anxiety now, it’ll go away quickly once you get the car.

I spent way more time than reasonable trying to decide between 18" and 20" wheels. I liked the look of the sport wheels way more than the aero wheels, but ultimately went with the 18s once I realized I'll be road tripping a lot, and I'd rather have extra side wall.

After I took delivery, I realized that I don't mind the aero wheels at all, and will likely use them through next spring when I get a set of wheels+summer tires.

So the Seattle/Tacoma area is interesting from the standpoint of going to Portland. At 170-180 miles one way, it can be done straight without needing to stop (unless you have kids), depending on your liquid intake and bladder size. So there is no need for a supercharger stop on the way down. And once you get there, plenty of charge to get around the city and do whatever... But unless you find some destination charging or street charging, if you plan on just doing a day trip, you're going to have to stop at a super charger on your way back, which again is something you may not have to stop for anything other than that. So that trip could be a little inconvenient of needing to stop for 20-30 minutes when there was no other reason.

That said, I have 2 kids, so I make multiple stops on both legs of the trip. So that doesn't apply to me... As long as they give me enough notice so I can go to the next supercharger, I'll just top off whatever I can while doing the bathroom/stretch legs run.

I got my aero wheels autoflex and I think they look great, it's in the picture below

I thought about the 18s for my AWD, wanted the extra range, and was concerned about the 19s ride quality, but really didn't care for the 18s look even without the covers. I guess I like the contrasting bright rims against the car, especially the darker colors. Decided to go for the 19s and I have to say that the ride quality was better than expected. The 18s may be even better, but I don't find the 19s objectionable at all and/or Tesla has done a bang up job on the suspension tuning (of course they have). Range isn't as critical where we normally drive and we usually aren't in a terrible hurry, so the 19s were worth it for me. YMMV, of course.
