You should see what BMW are doing with the iX1. They just moved the price up approx $3k and removed options for a car with an 11 month wait and just to top it off signing up today doesn't guarantee price as there's a carve out in the sale agreement that allows them to put the price up prior to delivery. Given how close this car sits to the LCT threshold thats got to be a killer for those looking to purchase on a novated lease!

My Kia ev6 order came with no price guarantee and a timeframe which has already been exceeded. They then bumped up the price close to 5k and expect me to be happy. At least with Tesla my price has gone down and guaranteed and my time frame is half that of Kia and seems more reliable. Teslas not perfect but their doing better than anyone else out there right now

7 months since the MYP was ordered and not even a VIN allocated yet .. this is getting very frustrating

Imagine waiting round for an S or X. It must be said though that they seem on the money with my Feb-Mar estimate. I did know how long it was going to be on that very first day. Lets just hope its closer to Feb than Mar.

Same same here. Just hope the MYP arrives before Tas decides to charge stamp duty.

Nah no rebate for the model Y in WA here mate, I wish as I’d change to get it but impossible, only the M3 RWD with certain changes is applicable

According to news, factory shuts on the 19th to the 31st for CNY, so unless we get a VIN by end of next week, they will make our cars in Feb for March delivery.

Plenty of Model 3 orders in the last quarter got their VIN when the vehicle was already on a ship.

So MYP buyers have to be asking, what are we paying the extra money for? Given that the Performance variant was supposed to have a break "upgrade" from that of the Standard and Long Range, why exactly is it now coming with the same brakes as the Long Range?

Unless there's some hard data on the impact of this in real world scenario, I wouldn't worry about it.
Think this was closely related to Tesla replacing Brembo with Mando for the rear brake? Personally I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep based on a 14 second YT clip and a thumb down.

Fairly sure the discs are thicker than the LR but honestly who knows, we haven't received any cars to verify.

I remember reading an article a little while ago saying this. The move from Brembo to Mando happened in Aug 2022 for MY. I think MS and MX had already been on Mando previous to Aug. The rears are still 2mm thicker than the MY and MYLR.

Tesla switches from Brembo to Mando for rear brake calipers on Model Y Performance

Tesla says you are not going to notice this change as there are no visual differences and they do not impact the braking performance.

With the telemetry they’re getting I am pretty sure they realised the rear ones were over speccd for road usage. Remember you hardly ever use the brake pedal. If you’re talking track and racing I would expect anyone to upgrade brakes anyway.
