Did Elon just confirm that AP2 won't be upgraded? He said something along the lines of "there will be a million FSD cars, of course some of them will be running AP2, but we can still get data from them".

There could be a benign answer still to that one. ”AP2” in this context could mean those AP2.x non-FSD (EAP/AP only or none) cars that won’t be upgraded to HW3.

After all there will be a fleet of AP2.5 cars that won’t be upgraded either — those without FSD. Tesla’s point there in my view was they can still get data from that fleet too.
 
All cars produced now have FSD hardware installed - about 7x better than NVIDIAs chip

Processing power is not something that usually keeps people awake on autonomous driving. The chips look nice as expected but let’s hope the NN presentation and demos show some real progress where it counts: the software that delivers Level 5 and makes Lidar doomed.
