At this point I’m kind of hoping my appointment gets cancelled until next week or the week after. I’d rather do this when things aren’t so crazy. I’d rather my car be at the SC for a day or two so they have time to prep it for delivery.
I just want to get the *sugar* over with, as long as the car is in good condition. I don’t even care if it’s dirty since I’ll be taking it to a detailer a day or two later for new car detail and paint protection film.

I also got a good enough trade-in estimate that it wasn’t worth going through the trouble of trying to sell privately. Now that was 6 weeks ago and, the more time passes, the more chance there is that they will make me resubmit my trade-in and lowball me. For now, I am scheduled to take delivery on 9/30 and I think they are less likely to let a sale go at the end of the quarter.

It's not happening. Since you're this close to the fake delivery date, just wait for the "We have cancelled your appointment" call.

(Of course, check to see if the MVPA and VIN do show up on Monday.)

Strangely, your statement of “its not happening”, has made me feel better...less on edge. I wish they understood that stringing people along is worse than just telling me the truth! :)

Who left on these forums still doesn’t even have a delivery date?

As in you made a reservation and subsequent deposit but have heard nothing since... Zip. Zero. Zilch.

We need to stick together.

Me....

From what I could tell from today's experience at the Fremont Delivery Center (and from the roped off parking lot full of cars down the street), the bottle neck for this area is having enough people to meet the new owners, go over their car, complete the paperwork and registration. There are so many cars just waiting to have owners pick them up. The person working with us said they are pretty much 24/7 working to get cars processed. Seriously never seen so many Teslas before, except for the Factory I guess. As soon as someone drove off and left a delivery space, someone from Tesla would pull in the next appointment car into that space so the lot there was constantly changing over cars. I can see where transport issues can play into people's delays but also these guys can only process so many customers eager to get their new car.

BTW I didn't take any photos of the lots, kind of wish I did but it looked to be a nice mix of new S and Xs too. Lots of 3s though.

I think they are doing a good job of that!

You didn't call delivery center before you left the house? Good luck bro!
That's the most charming comment I've heard all day. You must live in a place where somebody at the delivery center answers the phone? Three days calling, nobody has ever picked up. Yesterday my delivery center delivered well over 300 matched cars. Today, they're trying to break that record. Are you telling me that you'll have a Delivery Advisor who speaks to you as well? Awesome! I've never heard from nor met mine. I did get a name at one point though!

And for the record... I'm delivered! Man, what a crazy ride.

Your profile says Davis, CA. Why would you not pay sales taxes and a doc fee?
I pay sales tax because in CA we have tax on sales. A paid a doc fee, because a doc fee was charged.

Well almost ready to drive off. Finished up paperwork and just got temp registration put on car. Nice guy assisting us, gave us time to look over. Very minor things to wipe down basically. Thought our car looked great. No wide gaps. Everything works, lights windows, doors and trunk/frunk. Wow AC is fabulous.

@EVnut hope your delivery went as well as ours! Too many people to even hope to find you. More Teslas and Model 3s than I've ever seen before.
I can tell by your picture that your car was about six spaces down from us. If you saw a black dog being walked by, that was us! We were pulled into that same row. A had a couple of issues. A dented left camera/blinker pod. Interior A-pillar trim pulled away and not seated at the bottom, to the point where the air bag system can clearly be seen through the windshield, and a sharp metal tab stuck up out of the dash. When I pointed that out, they IMMEDIATELY took the car to service, and fixed it in 10 minutes. On the drive home, I found: left turn signal will never cancel in any mode. Radio stopped working (then worked again after the car went to sleep and woke up again). Roof glass has decal/stickum on it... but I'm having tint done anyway, so I'll let them polish it up. Other than those, things all looked and worked great. Super fun drive home in the rocketship. Man, it's tough to stay at reasonable speeds, eh?

We're inquiring about 2 iPhone connectors. It's $15 to get thru Tesla. Suggested he ask someone else in the parking lot while we're here with lots of owners and success, were able to swap an Android cable for a second iPhone cable. Setting up phone chargers now.
I tried to swap too, but everybody I ran into wanted iphone cables like me. :-( I'll go swap on the board I guess. Or wait until Thursday when my wireless charger gets here.

Contacted on 9/6 to schedule delivery
Scheduled Delivery for 9/24 @ 8am
Received an email on 9/21 to confirm details
Received a text on 9/23 confirming delivery and then VIN shows up on account page

I have responded to the emails and texts, but never got any replies. After reading this thread I knew there would be no communication, so really glad I decided to go with Lightstream to be able to pay Tesla in cash. Trying to deal with a bank for the loan and MVPA would have been too stressful. Not thrilled with the fact I haven't been able to speak to anyone throughout this process, but I guess I knew what I was getting myself into. Just looking forward to a smooth delivery tomorrow with hopefully a perfect car!

As SMAIset correctly states, it was HOPPING. In fact, I'm willing to go all the way to "madhouse." There was never a time when a Tesla wasn't driving through the lot we were all standing in. They were coming and going like crazy. An empty spot didn't stay empty for more than a couple of minutes. Fresh cars coming in constantly. Amazing.

Someone should create a time lapse! Would be awesome.

For reference, my disagree here is that I've owned a Model S for 5 years and their customer service has left a LOT to be desired. The individual service people are always great, once you reach them, but getting through the call center to actually reach them is a PITA, your information gets lost at every stage, they are unable to get parts out of the central office in a timely fashion, and as a result I've gotten the runaround too many times to count. Not to mention the times when people showed up with the wrong parts. Also, Tesla Engineering is a black hole out of which no information ever comes -- the local service people can't do anything it if it requires engineering help -- and the software engineering department never fixes bugs, but does create a lot of new bugs (I would seriously fire whoever's in charge of the department at this point).

I would agree with regards to service. It was top notch when we bought out S in 2014 but as cars got more numerous it went down dramatically. They have extremely poor communication at our local service center. They text our home phone (even though we give them the #to text, as this has happened multiple times), never call and then ask when WE call why we didn’t pick up our car 5 days ago. They do not return calls or emails, When we call they often don’t know the status is our vehicle etc. i have multiple stories of failure of communication. I don’t even totally blame the local folks, the model is not set up to support this # of vehicles. The whole “they never need service model” is not a correct assumption. Hopefully the mobile repair program helps.

AWD Red multi-coat
19" wheels
White interior
No EAP or FSD.

Took delivery of my Tesla Model 3 yesterday. I'm still grinning! It's an awesome car.

Here's a quick review after about a day hours of ownership. It's definitely the best car I have ever owned. The Sequoia's ride is more comfortable, but I knew that would be the case. I'll be riding my friend's X today to compare it. I want to tweak the tire pressure, but first I have to look online what's the minimum I can go. I know it'll hurt range, but I'm okay with it.

The Good
- Beautiful, beautiful car. To be honest, I don't like the X and the S. They look like boats. The 3 is magnificent, though.
- Tesla giggle is a thing. People are taking rides with me just to feel the acceleration.
- The white interior is jaw dropping. So happy I got it.
- The simple dashboard and the single MCU is just perfect.
- Voice recognition technology is top notch. I have a heavy accent and it's not a problem at all. "Navigate to whatever," it always finds it.
- Phone access is working flawless even though I'm really close to the car during the night. No vampire drain so far.
- Charging your car at home: priceless.
- Die cast Model 3 toy car. I'm a reservation holder, but I only reserved it earlier this year. It was a nice surprise.

The Bad:
I'll be calling service to fix them. No deal breakers. I'd rather get my car soon (like yesterday, literally) so I can get the tax credit.
- Two panel gaps: one is on the rear right door and it's hard to close it. One near the left rear light.
- The bottom of the rear trunk (trunk liner?) has creases. Maybe it's normal, but I haven't never seen something like this.
- It looks like whoever cleaned the car had grease (or some black dirt) on their hands. They left finger marks on the white interior, top left, on the driver side. I wonder if it's easy to clean.

The Ugly:
- My ICE cars.

For anyone that cares about the LA Metro Tesla Direct service: it’s been 48 hours since the email with no response.

I get that they blasted that out to a large audience hoping to get enough to match up whatever they have and I probably didn’t make the cut, but a simple automated “sorry, maybe next time” would’ve been sufficient. I had no prospect of getting the car this weekend until they sent that email and got me excited. Really poor customer experience.

To add insult to injury, someone parked a Model 3 with my exact configuration out on the street 30 feet from my front door. It’s been a rough day.

This has to be the single best post ever on these forums. The Oscar goes to...

I’m still waiting from Tesla.
Put my finance info in aug 22 and approved.
2 days for some reason asked to confirm my information and they changed my address to my old address from 3 years ago. So had to change info and my webpage says “they will contact me.”
I’m gonna call tomorrow and ask what’s going on.

Well dang, at least you’ve been asked to fill out financing information — I’m not even there yet.

I rejected Tesla trade-in as it was lower than CarMax and my IDA suggested going with CarMax, instead of Tesla trying to match it. He also asked me to provide updated insurance & drivers license as they had expired. I emailed him both docs. A few mins later when I went into my account it asked me re-verify every thing, but it still had the old expiry dates on my license and insurance. I selected “no” when prompted expecting it would let me update the dates. Instead it provided a text box to enter comments. And now on both drivers license and insurance it shows my comment and below that it shows “A specialist will reach out to you to address your questions”. I tried emailing my IDA and got an automated out of office reply saying he will be back in office on Monday 9am PST.
Top of my account page shows “A delivery experience specialist is reviewing your changes and will contact you prior to delivery”.
Delivery is currently scheduled for 9/28/2018, no VIN or MVPA yet.
