ChargeFox EV charging Network

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
The Chargefox + NRMA roaming is now officially available for all in the app.

Hopefully we see more networks happy to set up roaming so we don't have to suffer with dozens of awful apps and accounts.

EV roaming makes it possible for any charge station owner or operator to make their chargers available to these drivers whilst still maintaining full control of their stations on their own station management platform

Thats fantastic. I can see Katherine, Alice Springs, and all the western NSW 50 kW ones in the app.

Odd they don't have the NRMA logo next to them?

It'd be nice if Chargefox updated their site icons so that 150+ kW get the "ultra-fast" symbol! There's a huge difference between 50 to 150 kW. Not so much between 150 to 350 kW.

Chargefox is providing Incident Updates here

In brief, a storage array in Telstra's Clayton data centre has failed, and it appears Telstra is struggling with their disaster recovery.

I suspect Chargefox has a busy week, next week, evaluating new cloud providers.
Very frustrating. So what seems to be the issue here, cloud storage, or internet/telecommunications? I thought all the chargers just lost internet for a few days or something

Chargefox is reporting they are back up and running again.

The Telstra disruption which was impacted some chargers on the Chargefox platform has now been RESOLVED.

We will immediately begin a review to fully understand the outage and what actions can be taken to reduce the likelihood and impact of any similar event in the future.

I only do it at an un networked charger to let people know the occupation status

I do it, even at Superchargers, to provide commentary that might be helpful to subsequent users.

e.g. Wangaratta SC is in a poor location - how the heck do I get back to street level? Do I use the staircase that says “Emergency Exit Only”? Is there a lift? Where is it? Or, don’t charge at Knockrow, it’s a dud, there’s no services there out of hours, and it’s quite a teasing drive to get back on the M1. You can see the M1 next to you… you drive under it… you drive over it… but no, you cannot rejoin it. Not yet. Keep driving.

Tesla doesn’t provide that sort of “colour” in its descriptions 🤣

I couldn't find the Super charger in Wangaratta when i was there at night. Ended up using the EVIE charger. I watched a you tube video of someone using it and they had exactly the same comments as you!

I check in with plugshare most of the time, usually if im bored and already started charging so i know how long ill be.
Not sure if id check in with the chargefox app as i dont usually use it, i just tap my card.
