I’ll cancel if I don’t get a Fremont build. The only reason I’m even considering trading in is to get HW4 and matrix headlights, and transfer FSD. Otherwise, I’ll gladly loose the $250 deposit, and wait for the refreshed Y coming soon, or the cybertruck I have a reservation for.Ordered MYLR this week. VIN assigned A15XXXX (Austin build). Confirmed with a Tesla Advisor that it has HW4 but not matrix headlights.
You got that right!I don’t understand why Austin and Fremont wouldn’t have the same headlights for the same car. You’d think they would want to be as uniform as possible.
And, this is the ONLY thing the Matrix's are used for. My understanding is the US feds STILL will not allow Matrix headlights on US roads. If MY have Matrix, headlights offer the special ability to project the word 'Tesla' during the light show easter egg
Yep, picked up an Austin built MYLR out of Mt Kisco last week, matrix headlights, HW4.Picked up my MYLR 7 seat, black interior on 10/28 from Mt. Kisco, NY, Fremont build. I have Matrix headlights and HW4. One of the Tesla employees said for the last month or so every MY he’s seen has had Matrix and HW4.

Yeah, that was in June.Another data point. MYLR delivered today, Austin build, with Matrix headlights. Maybe Austin finally ran out of the reflector headlights?
they are now officially approved in the US. My MYP doesn't seem to use them as intended though. It just does the normal high/low beam splitAnd, this is the ONLY thing the Matrix's are used for. My understanding is the US feds STILL will not allow Matrix headlights on US roads.
They are approved, but need to be dimmer than the rest of the world. This may be why Tesla and other manufactures have yet to make them function as advertised.they are now officially approved in the US. My MYP doesn't seem to use them as intended though. It just does the normal high/low beam split
Actually, they were approved a while ago but no specific regulations have been released yet - which means most manufacturers won't 'enable' them until that happens, I imagine. They are approved, but need to be dimmer than the rest of the world. In that case we should see "old" model 3 and Y, that was fitted with matrix headlamps get the upgrade as well.Tesla has added new hardware to cars without notice and then later enabled it or just plain added features or functionality. I don't remember a case where they didn't enable a hardware in a car out of respect for other owners.
Even if your MY has them, there is no guarantee they will ever be "turned on"anymore updates on Austin Y's? planning on getting a Y LR soon.
our Feb 2023 Fremont 3 RWD has Matrix.
