Do you eat in your Tesla???

Soup...no problem with AP. Now let me tell you about the good old days when I'd eat soup while driving and shifting a manual transmission

And to the original question. Food yes. Muddy dogs yes. Yard stuff yes. As others have said, it's just a car. Enjoy it!

I agree with some of the posts about soup crossing the line. We regularly eat while supercharging. We will swing by a fast food place and then hit the supercharger and eat in the car while it's charging on longer trips. We even have a driver profile named "Ten Forward" which moves the driver seat back and the steering wheel forward and up, then we break out trays to eat on (I do dislike getting crumbs all over the car).

Refreshing to see more anal owners like myself! I do allow enclosed beverages including coffee as I don’t wish to be a total Nazi. But no eating, and takeout is treated like a time-sensitive donor organ. Almost 9k miles and a year later, people still say the cars smells new inside. I agree.

@idoco lol! Can totally relate! Back in the day, bowls of fresh poured cereal racing to work, plates of pasta eaten with fork/ spoon, etc etc with no spillage, all while throwing a 5-speed around. Learning to float gears really helped!

How about smoking?

Smoke is nastier and more difficult to clean from your car, but also doable. I don't smoke in general, so wouldn't smoke in car. Also I think it is more of a nusance to passengers if someones moked in the car over just some snack wraps lying around ;)

I don't do technical maintenance on my car because I'm not a specialist, and I don't do cleaning maintenance on it eithe (or washing ...), because I'm not a specialist. I just enjoy driving it and wearing it out ;)

You probably don't want to hear about my three labs in the X, then.
A woman after my own heart! Our Havanese will own our model 3. He is non-shedding, hypoallergenic, sleeps most of the time while underway, and is way cleaner and smarter than I am. I am looking forward to the day when FSD is activated and I will put him in the drivers seat (with a booster seat). That should get some startled looks on the freeway.

No eating in the car. And I agree with the stench of bringing food in the car.....but it must be brought home. So I seal it and move quickly.

I do have my coffee. Potential disaster spill in car vs Coffee. Coffee wins - unfortunately.
In my opinion and olfactory senses, nothing has a greater stench than coffee!

But this discussion brings up an interesting point. If an EV is required to stop for 30 minutes to recharge every couple of hours, and IF TESLA builds some nice food facilities at their SCs, then there should be no reason to eat or drink or smoke in your car on a long trip. I like that idea.

I eat in the car, and I have no problem with others doing the same. Hell, folks, it's a car. It's not like I'm eating ribs and using the Mona Lisa for a bib. I even keep at least one "emergency" Kind bar in the console. That said, I don't think I'd go for someone eating soup in the car. That can get into places that are tricky to clean. Driving while eating soup is downright dangerous, even with AP.

Absolutely no smoking, and no exceptions. I don't care if you are Roger Staubach, my Mother, or the Messiah. If you need a smoke break while we're on a long trip, no problem, but don't even think about lighting up in my car--any car of mine--ever.
