Does anyone wave anymore?

I have been gone a very long time. Think Endeavour or perhaps more accurately George Gently


... They had a Ford Anglia in season 6, and a Zephyr, a Zodiac, a Rover 2000, a Hillman Imp, a Panda Car, a Vitesse, a Ford Transit with the lift up tailgate (why?) and a Bedford van with the sliding doors to name but a few

This thread seems to have died the death and I’m sorry to say it not surprising.
On our four day trip to the Peak District we saw at least 14 M3’s and waved to them all but as far as I could tell got nothing back (apologies if I’m wrong)
We did have a nice chat with a guy at the Barnsley supercharger though.

I’m currently trying to best my ‘return waves in a row’ number - it’s like your skimming-stone record number - but for waves-back.

It’s only two, but I’m proud of it.

Annoying when someone not paying any attention/someone miserable breaks the roll!

Holiday in south Wales, only one wave the entire time . I admit I only saw 4 Tesla's but that is a 75% no wave ratio.

Also, once back in England I've noticed Model Y owners don't wave, should I stop waving at them?

I’ve seen about a dozen in the last week. No one waves back anymore. Too busy watching the screen

Last week I flashed my lights at a Model S heading in the other direction to warn him of A police speed check - he waved back not realising I was trying to warn him and saw him being pulled over in my rear view mirror.

Friday afternoon at Tebay Supercharger we had no white Teslas at one stage … unheard of! Looked like a MSM take over!

Driving into Lincoln on a lovely Sunday yesterday. Saw two white M3's one behind the other. Did a frantic wave and the second M3 driver did a wave then a thumbs up! I replied in kind. Happy days.

Waving is a curious match to the expression, which is usually delight at seeing another EV driver displacing a fossil off the road. Probably a thumbs-up gesture might be better without need to reciprocate. Usually with a dash of excitement for those 22-plate Y/3s.

I have a MY on order. Think I’ll wave to other MYs but not to the M3 masses ;-)

The suggestion several years ago was the double-hand wave. This of course was suggested when "FSD was coming at the end of the year".
So maybe at the end of this year......

I’ve done a double hand wave on occasion with EAP just for the fun of it, but alas no response.

For those who don’t know it might come across as alarming and unsafe, so haven’t since.
