Got a text earlier that my MYP had left the factory in Fremont. No update to EDD yet. I'm sure I'll be hearing from the local delivery center in the next few days.

Is this real? You ordered the car a little over two weeks ago, and it is in transit already?

Unrelated, and so I don't need to make a separate post below, I stopped in at Naperville this afternoon to talk with my SA. I did ask that if my car came in at the very end of December, would it be possile to delay the pick up to the first of January? (The IRA credit, obviously) The answer didn't surprise me. No, they would not extend the pickup day not even one day, and that I'd loose my car, and the order fee if I did. I should look into my order agreement to see it has a provision regarding a short delay.

Hard to believe it happened that fast, but it did.

Anyone have a recommendation for a PPF installer in the Naperville area? I'm willing to drive a bit for a high-quality installation. Thank you, in advance!

I have no direct experience with Chicago Auto Pros, but I haven't heard anything bad about them either. **Not an endorsement** They have some info here:
One of their installers was in my line at work. I didn't have a lot of time to ask him questions, but he did tell me to bring my Tesla over to him and to check out the business. I will be doing exactly that in a little over a month.

Picked up my MYP on Saturday. Just one small scratch on one of the doors. Have a service appointment this morning to fix it.

No USS
Pirelli summer tires

It has the parcel shelf, which I already have a love/hate relationship with.

4 weeks from order to delivery exactly.

Wow, that was quick! Got the VIN AND scheduling texts on Wednesday morning (11/23) in the middle of flying for Thanksgiving travel. The only date it let me schedule delivery was Monday 11/28. I reached out Saturday morning (11/26) and asked if I could pick it up that day and I got it!

OD - 9/18/22; original EDD - Dec 2022 - Apr 2023 (MYLR 5 seat, white with black interior, tow hitch, basic autopilot)

The delivery process was impressively smooth and really helpful and kind. Here's what happened.
  • I signed the registration paperwork
  • I brought the rebate paperwork with me and they filled that out for me and made a copy for themselves.
  • The delivery specialist (different title than SA) brought me into the back garage to my car and we went through it together. He paired the key and probably spent about 20 minutes (maybe more) talking with me and showing me things. I'm guessing we went to the garage directly because it was getting dark out.
It was a really great experience. It could've been stressful if I wasn't ready for payment or with insurance, but that all worked out well. And, of course, I LOVE the car. Making a trip to the grocery store this morning...

I've appreciated all the help on this sub and will hang around more!

Which Chicago area location did you pick up your Y from?
