Let's say thanks: Pizza for the factory employees

Count me in too. Although I was not part of the black hole, I was one of the September 30th demo purchasers before the October 9th announcement of the D. I have been following these delivery threads closely and pulled the trigger on the P85D on November 19th. My car finished production this morning. I am very happy that Tesla has been resolving a lot of the issues and appears to be delivering P85D's as promised.

So things to keep in mind ... Jerome is VP of Worldwide Sales & Service. Gilbert Passin is VP of Manufacturing. If you are contacting a VP about this, it's Gilbert's floor, not Jerome's. (Though Jerome will forward the request to the right people, undoubtedly.)

In the past, the marketing dept has coordinated both internal and external events. They probably would be the right group to reach out to.

And lastly ... please don't forget YOUR sales person and delivery specialist. They have taken a huge amount of abuse from untold people (and I'm not talking about people here, just in general). Rewarding the factory and leaving out the people who have had to take the brunt of customer frustration would seem unfair.

Should mention that there is nothing like a handwritten thank-you note. Pizza or popcorn is nice ... but a huge basket of handwritten thank-yous, with a photo or two, is something that can be passed around indefinitely. Whenever I've sent a hand-written note to an employee or co-worker, I've seen those notes tacked up near their desk a long time after. People like that, too. The notes could be all sent to one person who could then send them over in a big basket. (Same for sales people and delivery specialists...)

Btw, if you particularly appreciate your sales person and/or delivery specialist - Jerome IS the right person. Make sure he knows they've done a good job for you. So often we only complain about customer service when we're unhappy. These folks need to know that not only their customers appreciate them, but that their boss knows they've been doing a good job.

Love what everyone is doing here. No matter what is done, it's nice to take a moment and let people know you appreciate them. :)

I didn't know who owned manufacturing, so I started with Jerome. I'm sure he will forward appropriately. To your second point, absolutely. But I think it would be easier to allow each person to handle that directly. Maybe after I actually get my car :)

I'm also a fan of the thank you note. I sent one suitable for framing after my little mishap on your driveway :/

I think a bunch on thank you notes would be better than pizza too although either is a great gesture. That way the people who are off that day or the night shift can enjoy them too.

And I can tell you from firsthand conversations with those involved (except for The Rock), it was appreciated :).

Which is more than appropropriate. I just wanted to remind people that it was more than the factory that deserved some thanks :).
