Ordered LR RWD 5/14 in MSM/Black interior/18"/AP. Delivery time reported as "within 2 weeks" but no VIN yet.

Would like to confirm AP3 hardware prior to delivery once VIN assigned - have searched forums without a clear answer - can someone provide some input on how to confirm AP3 hardware installed prior to delivery?

When I got my VIN, I used the chat on the bottom of the Tesla support page, and they were able to give me a build date and confirmed I had the newest hardware.

Go FFC, in response to above, my understanding is that even if you pick up from the factory, you will still have the same dest/doc fee.

Just wanted to share what was just confirmed by Tesla agent through live chat, Vin 327xxx production date 04/11/2019 comes with HW3 and firmware 2019.12.1.2

My exact same configuration, ordered 5/15 but no word yet. From what I have seen here, only people on west coast are getting faster VIN assignments (about 1 week), but I have not seen any recent example of how long is taking for LR WRD vin assignments on the east coast.

How are you notified of a VIN assignment? Via Tesla account? e-mail? carrier pigeon?

They text you once a delivery date has been set, which usually happens right after a VIN is assigned.

Yes, you got MSM correct. TACC is Traffic Aware Cruise Control, part of the AutoPilot (AP) suite.

After placing the order, you should try to complete everything in the portal. The delivery specialist said they would prioritize those with finished profiles (delivery address, insurance, financing/cash/lease, driver's license) than one that doesn't.

From the looks of it though, unless there is one already available in inventory I think you should expect a min of 2 weeks to be assigned a VIN. I know the feeling... I checked my Tesla profile multiple times each day.

I checked my VIN with Tesla Support. My car has a build date of 04/10/19 and has HW3.

I've completed everything but the trade in and financing. I don't want to get a loan approval that's good for 30 days (for example) only to have that approved loan expire. Same with the trade in info. I've heard the offer is only good for a certain number of miles, etc. So how do you complete some items when you really need dates to help determine when to start some of these tasks?
