Yeah it's quite imminent lol. It's showing up on the manual, and the release notes have been uncovered too. Me and @jebinc's guess is either in the current 2021.44.30 that's rolling out or a bug fix 2021.44.30.x version.

I think you can change it yourself. Just click on your name in the header at the top, select account details, and then click the change button next to your username.

It looks like you can only change your username once every ~2.5 years. (And ~2.5 years after you created the account.)

I didn't realize that was a restriction.
