NeitherNow that I have an updated EDD does that mean that the car is on the production line? Or is it already built and ready for delivery?

Neither
How do you get build date and time from VIN?What you want is a VIN. The date code (Q?) will indicate if it is 2024.
As soon as you get the VIN, use a decoder to get the build date and time, to ensure it is not a reject.
Or call your SA.
This is good to know. What would indicate that it was rejected? How recent should the build date and time be to confirm that the car is newly built? What you want is a VIN. The date code (Q?) will indicate if it is 2024.

If the car was already delivered to a store. If the car is in transit you are probably ok.This is good to know. What would indicate that it was rejected? How recent should the build date and time be to confirm that the car is newly built?
Got it. Thank you for the tips.If the car was already delivered to a store. If the car is in transit you are probably ok.
I think the VIN usually skip O and Q. I'm assuming the 24s will have R.What you want is a VIN. The date code (Q?) will indicate if it is 2024.

It's been covered extensively on this TMC thread, and apologies in advance as my recall is lacking, but basically right click on the image on your order page or inventory image and you will be able to view source data. There is a huge string, but you can download and search for "factorygated"How do you get build date and time from VIN?
That's not there any longer. It's been covered extensively on this TMC thread, and apologies in advance as my recall is lacking, but basically right click on the image on your order page or inventory image and you will be able to view source data. I'll give better info later.
Love how Chukieboy downvotes what is a true and honest answer. lol. EDD is just a acknowledgement of order not a vin or verification of line.Neither
Wouldn't a demo car get the warranty from your date of purchase, since it counts as a "new" car? Either way, I don't see large enough discounts to want to get a demo car.I was able to get it to work with an inventory car just now. You have to have an image in you order page and probably a VIN assigned for this to work
On PC laptop or desktop, right click image and select "View page source"
Then, control F or select "Find" from the pull down on the menu bar.
Search for factorygated
It will highlight the day/time it was built.
In this case the demo car is over six months old. Not a good deal as the warranty is reduced by 12%
Apparently they changed that at some pointWouldn't a demo car get the warranty from your date of purchase, since it counts as a "new" car? Either way, I don't see large enough discounts to want to get a demo car.
That only works on inventory car. Does not work on the car ordered that is only showing under your account even when VIN is assigned.I was able to get it to work with an inventory car just now. You have to have an image in you order page and probably a VIN assigned for this to work

Thanks a lot @aerodyne . I just tried another similar approach which also worked on the inventory car.On PC laptop or desktop, right click image and select "View page source"
Then, control F or select "Find" from the pull down on the menu bar.
Search for factorygated

My downvote was for lack of exposition, not lack of accuracy. Love you, too.Love how Chukieboy downvotes what is a true and honest answer. lol. EDD is just a acknowledgement of order not a vin or verification of line.
Eventually they will say to complete the next step, or they will cancel your order. I think they give you one or two days. (At least that is what they used to do.)Anyone know what happens if you don't fill out the registration information after submitting an order? I've been hesitating to do anything to move the order along after submitting it last Friday. I want to delay as much as possible until the '24 VINs are out.
Nope, Tesla starts the warranty on the date the car first goes in to service. Be that loaner, demo, or end owner service.Wouldn't a demo car get the warranty from your date of purchase, since it counts as a "new" car? Either way, I don't see large enough discounts to want to get a demo car.
