Wiki Model S Delivery Update

So the car went in production today for a late Oct/Nov delivery. Just got a call seeing if I was comfortable signing papers on this Saturday to lock in the .99 AND more specifically as a publicly traded company they want to have end of quarter sales. In return they offered delivery directly to my home and I should get it earlier than anticipated. Interesting. I'll probably take advantage for the home delivery and rate lock. Only concern is buying a car before taking possession. It does seem like from previous posts that these delivery drivers are pretty good about catching problems though. Thoughts?
Tesla wants to count it towards end of QTR delivered (sales) even though it hasn't left the factory just because you signed paperwork?

things went pretty well today with my delivery. the store manager was the one who walked me through the car. I did find a long scratch in the clear coat on the hood along with some smaller ones. They buffed the long scratch out - I was a little hesitant but I'm having the hood wrapped in XPEL Ultimate and then coated in Opticoat so I wasn't too worried about losing some clear coat. Overall, the car was in good shape, but the clear coat scratches on the hood were not great. Car is dropped off at a shop for XPEL and tint - I get it back in a couple of days

One way to see the codes is to click on "ViewSpec" in MyTesla. In the address bar of the new page you'll see the option codes listed.
?model=ms&options=AF00%2CAPF2%2CAPH3...........

I looked up a few codes:

AF00
APF2 - Full Self-Driving Capability
APH3
APPB - Enhanced Autopilot
AU00 - No Audio Package
BCMB - Black Brake Calipers
BP00 - No Ludicrous

It used to be that the equipment is completed, tested and off the company premeses and in the hands of the shipper it could possibly just possibly be said to 'delivered'....I guess just like a human baby.

A further clarification would be that you have now paid for the car and they are just storing it for you while the train or transporter fills up with cars.

I agree its 'Creative Accounting' but one has to draw the 'shipped' demarcation line in the sand somewhere.

I'll report back after Saturday. I'll ask some questions in this regard at the signing and see what explanations I get. The only real benefit for me is the loan rate guarantee. At the end of the day I live 25 mins from the showroom so home delivery is a minimal benefit and while getting the car earlier will be nice, it's not as if 2 weeks is a huge difference.

Is anyone else taking delivery in Columbus, OH? My DS is not being quick to respond to e-mails at the moment (assuming that's due to the volume of end of quarter deliveries). The last I heard was that my car would arrive on 9/29 to the service center for pickup on 9/30. Anyone have similar or alternative information?

Could make some difference to your wallet. You may want to clarify the loan start time and date.

Finally got my Tesla today from Atlanta Decatur Center. Good service on handing over my car but only problem is with the paint job where multi coat red turns out to be not a worthy choice for the money I paid there are lots of scratch mark kind of display when looked through lights.

The service guy said they will rebuff the paint afterwards lets see after a month will they come back to me to do that job other than that the car glides in the road like a hovercraft I loved it.

Still did not see the DS assigned for me who is Franklin Tesfaye - THE WORST DS EVER in my entire life faced.

Columbus update:

My DS let me know that their logistics group still has the car arriving to Columbus on 9/29. However, he said there is a chance it could arrive tomorrow. The map he attached shows the car just outside of Champaign, IL which is 4.5 - 5 hours from Columbus. I guess it just depends on their route and how many stops they make. If anyone else is taking delivery in Columbus in the next few days- hopefully this helps!

My Blackvue camera (DR750S-2CH) arrived today...I guess I can read the manual while I wait....

Oh Oh.

Thanks for posting, my delivery appointment at the Decatur Center is set for this afternoon on 9/28/2017.

When I told a buddy that In spite of paying an extra $1000 for the metallic Blu I may have to get a paint treatment/cleaning/buffing job and an Xpel or Opti-Coat treatment he was not pleased as he had higher expectations of Tesla....faulty thinking on his part.
Could be that they are trying to make the quarter delivery numbers and will make it right after the delivery crush is over and the paint has had time to harden.

Good luck finding the DS as my thinking is that all these 'names' that get attached to the various specialists that interface with the buyers are 'fake persons' , aliases. You could have been talking to 'him' while you were there.

So my delivery is today, My Tesla finally updated this morning showing out of production even though it was out last week. My Tesla is still showing APH2. is there any easy way to check to see if 2.5 is enabled.. since there are other errors in my config options not sure I even trust that site.

I am picking up my 75D tomorrow as well. My Tesla is also showing APH2. It was built 1-2 weeks ago.

My delivery is scheduled for 9/30 but I have not seen the updated finance paperwork with the trade-in. The DS has not been responsive lately and I do see the car being prepped for delivery.
Is this normal to not get the paperwork by this time? I already am putting down more than 20% with the trade-in but don't want ay last minute surprises at the end.
