Wiki Model S Delivery Update

The cars are shipped from the US to Europe by Wallenius Wilhelmsen. I entered the VIN into the Cargo ID field here: WWL

That told me what ship the car was on. I then went to a ship tracker - I like fleetmon.com - and tracked the actual ship's progress.

Hey guys. Long time lurker, first time poster. I have been spending a ton of time around the forum here while I wait in avid anticipation for the delivery of my 70D!

Getting pretty close, I ordered it 11/17, confirmed 11/24, in production 12/2. Right now I have a delivery date estimate of 12/17 - 12/31. Based on the google spreadsheet averages for East Coast delivery I am thinking 12/21 will be my date - what a great Christmas gift to myself!

I went with the Midnight Silver, Pano Roof, Tan Next Gen Seats, Matte Obeche Wood, and AutoPilot.

I think because Tesla wants to get as close to the sales estimates by year end they will rush as many cars through delivery as possible.

Electrician is coming out to install my outlet next week for a reasonable $450. Line needs to come from my panel in the basement under the garage and then up and over the garage door to the other side for easier charging access when I pull in head first.

Cant wait! Thanks to all the other posters here in the delivery support group for providing all the stories and pics!

According to my delivery specialist production has completed on my 90D (site hasn't updated yet).

Ordered: 2015-11-12
Confirmed / VIN: 2015-11-20
Prod Start: 2015-11-24
Prod Complete: 2015-12-2

Initial delivery estimate was Late December - January 2016
Upon prod start it was updated to December 17-31
My DS now estimates December 15-23

Hey Model S, M.D., Have you checked into insurance?? I got a quote from my current provider and it doubled! Checked a few others but either the car was too expensive for them to cover or they don't cover Tesla at all..... I was told to check Geico or State Farm by a broker.

Taking off the car I drive now (a 2009 escalade) and adding in the tesla only cost me an extra $43/mo. But we already have another 130k car on there plus a 16 yo driver and the highest limits possible so our insurance is about $360/mo which would go up to $400/mo with the tesla.

I have USAA

I am going to check later today now that I have my VIN, but when I checked last week, I was given a quote of around $1200 for the year from Progressive, which is like an extra $40/month or so. They lumped the 85D and P85D into the same category. I'll let you know what my new quote is. I have wifey's Porsche Cayenne on the insurance as well and my limits are pretty high since I have an umbrella policy as part of my protection being a physician, not sure if that matters.

By the way, production completed on my Model S this morning (got a call from Tesla--MyTesla online is NOT up to date). I may be able to take delivery at the end of next week, which would be less than 4 weeks after order confirmation! Tesla is really moving production along here at year end.

Awesome!!!! Mine still shows in Prod too, we are probably going to be on the same transport, maybe we will see each other next week haha. Taking delivery at the Houston North with Whitney since I live in North Spring/The Woodlands

Re: insurance, not sure what's going on here, but I'm getting a way better rate (from ~1200/yr @ State Farm to ~700/yr at Progressive) when moving from an M3 to a 90D. The car is almost double the value of the M3 but almost half the price for insurance. Hmm.

Hoo! Hoo! Got an email from my DS just now that my production is ahead of schedule and they might be able to put my 90D on a truck for delivery (from SC in Vancouver) on the 14th. My fingers are crossed. Winter tires that I ordered won't get here until the 22nd, but at least I will be able to get paint protection done before Christmas.

confirmed Nov 16
in production Nov 25

They are really pushing us to pick up our Model S ASAP as we received a call for pickup today and the car is ready early. Ordered our MC Red 90D Nov 2nd, confirmed Nov 9th, production start Nov 19th, production finished Nov 30th, and 3 days to transit from California to Vancouver SC Dec 3rd. Pickup scheduled this Saturday morning Dec 5th and taking the MS to the window tint installer and for 3M Scotchguard Clearbra protectant. We wanted to pick it up at a later date but the SC said they couldn't hold the car their too long because they have lots of deliveries and need room in the lot...maybe Tesla will hit 50K deliveries without too many Model X deliveries this year.

That's definitely a great premium!

My insurance premium may be higher since it includes a Porsche Cayenne and I am required to have higher insurance limits due to my $2 million umbrella policy.

Awesome! Congratulations on delivery of your car f-stop, she looks beautiful. Wish you many many happy miles!

My car, identical to yours, arrived at the SC yesterday and I'll be taking delivery next week on Tuesday. Have my paint protection install for the very next day. Very excited and can't wait!

Cheers and enjoy your Model S!

My wait is over!!
70D ordered 10/26
took delivery today 12/2/2015 !
Pleasantly surprised at the fairly quick overall time to delivery.

Delivery today went smoothly. They were detailing a Deep Blue Metallic 90D parked next to mine while I was getting the walkthrough of the car.

Took possession of my new Model S this past Tuesday. By far the most incredible purchase I've ever made. Delivery in less than 1 month really impressed me as well. Jesse (delivery) & Ava (sales) at the Portland Tesla Offices were amazing to work with! Couldn't recommend any higher kudos! Already loving autopilot features and the joys of electric driving.

The call long awaited on 12/5

Looks like southern California is getting its next truck load of new arrivals. My car just cleared production (**note mytesla still shows 'in-production status), will be loaded and in transit on Monday. Looking at Thursday for pickup. Fingers crossed.
