Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Mine has been stuck with nothing under what's next since Friday. No indicators of production yet. (Confirmed 11/13).

Now under what's next mine is back to no new news: "scheduled for production".

Hi JRMW
I ordered and confirmed my 90D for Norway 11/8.
Earlier today I e-mailed Tesla US and asked if there was a bug on the updated page, haven't gotten an answer. But just now The My Tesla page changed again and is now saying:
"
What's Next?
Your Tesla order has been confirmed and scheduled for production in our factory.

Questions about your order? Please contact our Delivery Team at [email protected]"

With same estimated delivery:
  • Estimated Delivery Range: February, 2017 - Early March, 2017

PerS

Tesla uses Just in Time manufacturing process.
This means they don't start getting supplies to build you car until after you order it (for the most part).

Once you order, you go in the queue.

Then a Tesla makes cars in batches, according primarily to final destination

They batch all the European cars together
Then they do East Coast of US
Then Midwest
Then West Coast
Then California

The do this because of shipping times (takes longer to ship to Europe than US)

Most of the cars made for Europe this quarter were made in October or early November and then take 6-8weeks to ship.

Tesla just finished the Midwest this week and is now starting on Californians

They will make the next batch of European bound cars in January, which will deliver 6-8 weeks later. Hence, March

If you didn't order your car in October or earlier then you had a glitch, and your car probably hasn't even started production yet

My What's Next? section just went from being blank to the above. Does that mean my car has started production or is this just the new verison of "car has entered production que"

Many of us had the same transition today. Not clear if anything is different at all.

Thank you guys, that's what I was afraid of. I think it should at least be getting close now since the first nine people listed on the spreadsheet after me have had their cars go into production. I "might" be a little more patient if I didn't have family coming from out of state for Christmas. I'm "really" excited about giving them rides and they are "really" excited about going for those rides! LOL

Mine was confirmed on 11/14, and went into production on the 2nd (173xxx). It's still in production according to MyTesla. My page has always shown from day 1 as "Late December - January, 2017." I was just wondering what the difference between that and "December - Early January, 2017" is. Which one suggests an earlier delivery date?
