Update from my Delivery Specialist:
"Hi Mike,
Your Model S is at its very last stage at the factory before being shipped down to Costa Mesa for final inspection and preparation for delivery."
IT'S GETTING CLOSE!
Now, if they would only get me my final MVPA, so I can finalize financing...

Sig 939 Perf, sig red, 21"silver, obeche matte, white leather, pano

Was emailed today and given an estimated delivery range of 10/29-11/12 (I had used every ounce of willpower and had not contacted them for any previous estimates, so this is the first date range I've gotten since signing my MVPA in June or so)

As another poster above indicated, they also asked me several other prep questions like confirming my address, preferred delivery location, whether I wanted the front license plate holder attached, and wanted to go ahead and register it with the DMV for me, so i have to send a copy of drivers license and insurance.

It looks like I have a VIN as well. I guess the 3 numbers at the end is what y'all have been listing so I believe I am correct in saying mine will be 708.

MY EMAIL TO TESLA LAST NIGHT:

I am currently at the end of my second delivery window. 10/12 - 10/26. My first delivery window was 9/28 - 10/12. In light of GB's recent email about better communication I have actually received worse communication. My delivery specialist informed me that my car was at the end of the line and would probably be delivered at the beginning of my second window. That of course has passed. And when I emailed him 4 days ago with a query he did not respond. When I emailed yesterday he did not respond. When I called today he did not respond.

I'm offering to fly to the factory to pick up my car. I actually want to help expedite the delivery process. But no one is responding.

I will be infuriated to be given yet a third delivery window.

I sincerely hope to make arrangements to get my car this week.

Thank you.

AND THE LIGHTENING FAST RESPONSE:

Hi,

I'm sorry about the lack of communication, we are making many changes including setting up an inside delivery team since the delivery specialists are on the road so much.

In the morning I will get back to you with an update.

I'LL LET YOU KNOW IF THEY DO

12 HOURS LATER....

My Tesla DS emailed and apologized for the lack of communication as he has been delivering the Model S to customers day and night. But he had good news. My Model S would be delivered on Tuesday. 9:30 am. 4 days after my second delivery window. And when I replied how thrilled I was, I was greeted by a brand new automated "out of the office reply" email that he was out delivering cars and would get back as soon as he could. (A very nice touch).

If that wasn't enough then someone from Tesla San Jose called to confirm the delivery.

Moral of the story: Instead of relying on these threads for morsels of information/conjecture, Email/call Tesla. They are clearly trying their best to help us.

Awesome news! Did they give you a VIN, by chance?

My truck seems to be hanging out in a residential area in North Decatur (NE Atlanta) this morning. Somebody getting a delivery? I heard that he has a couple of stops to complete in GA so I'm curious to see when he starts heading south again?

Whoever thought of sending me this tracking link, had a great idea. My wife is excited and keeps asking where the truck is now; my daughter thinks it would be much easier if they could just travel by map.

It seems like a mixed blessing. Your families' productivity has been reduced to nil! If the truck with my car has GPS I'll end up getting fired!:biggrin:

Hey Tim,
I know another Model S owner in Minneapolis that got his car Monday (10/22)!
SSL #201, VIN 239.

That is the third in Minneapolis, I hear the forth is arriving next week, although I haven't spoken with the owner yet. If I do I will see if they are willing to add their data.

Thanks for the update and tracking down that info! :)

Can't wait to drive it home!

I wouldn't be able to wait either! Knowing me, I'd spend the entire day around the factory.

Back on topic....

The truck with my car on board is delivering 3 cars in Atlanta between today and Saturday. Are those the first cars in Atlanta?

I think so. Sparrow is still waiting on his (VIN 510). These Atlanta ones haven't been reported yet, so i guess the owners aren't plugged into (pun intended) the community here or on the TM forums.

It's also possible one or two of them could be destined for the Atlanta service center that's going to be here, but I don't see why they would waste the production capacity on a city with no showroom. Since you said they were stopping in an affluent part of the city/metro area (NE Atlanta), I'm guessing it's some rich dudes who paid to get the best car money can buy (IMHO) and don't really care about nerdy things like Internet forums :)
