Wiki Model S Delivery Update

My sales advisor told me to go ahead and apply for financing - "Approvals are good for 30 days and we will deliver your car this month." how authoritative is this?

I would say "not authoritative at all" in the sense that nothing with Tesla timelines seems to be guaranteed (you need only go back a few pages in this thread to read about timeline changes and delays).

That being said, Tesla is highly motivated to deliver as many cars as possible by the end of the quarter.

My DS recommended this week that I go ahead and apply for financing, stating that the car would go into production next week and be delivered by the end of the month. I applied, got approved, and now I continue waiting. Time will tell if applying before the car was actually in production was a mistake or not.

Confirmed 9/5 for a October-Early November Date. Today it reads Late September-Early October. No doubt they're trying to make an end of quarter delivery and with Fremont being the pickup point im sure they can make it happen!

A little jealous! I ordered my 75D on 8/30 and confirmed on 9/3. Still showing Late Oct/Nov. I heard the more I refresh the MyTesla page the quicker the car goes into production ;) Pretty sure I've been overloading the Tesla servers for the last week.

Figures that US deliveries can be quite fast... was just informed my S75D is on a Maersk container ship, en route from Houston (!) to Norfolk and then finally across the pond to Rotterdam and then Tilburg.

Tracking the ship is fun, but it doesn't move very fast... oh well, I do get a tour of the assembly facility when picking up the car.

Just to provide an additional data point (yes, I can empathize, the folks who come on this thread 10 times a day are looking for any scraps of information on how Tesla's delivery pipeline is flowing), here is my timeline:

S75, East Coast delivery

8/6 - Ordered
8/10 - Confirmed - Delivery Range Estimate Sep-Early Oct
8/26 - APH2 option changed to APH3
9/2 - Production Started
9/7 - Delivery Range Estimate changed to Sep 18 - Oct 2
9/8 - Production Complete, in transit Delivery Range Estimate changed to Sep 18 - Sep 25

So all this happened with minimal interaction with my DS. Upon confirmation, he provided an early Sep production, late Sep delivery date, which turned out to be spot on so far. We had a couple of minor email exchanges since then, but there really hasn't been anything to talk about. Hopefully the rest of the process goes smoothly and I can take delivery in 10 days or so..

An update: Car ordered Aug 13. Confirmed Aug 16. Went into production today, Sept 8th. DS is confident for delivery before end of September.

I am in the same boat as you, car confirmed 8/20 just went into production today. I am also from Toronto, seems like they grouped the production based on where the cars will be delivered. I am told by my DS I should have the car before end of Sep although my Tesla page is still say Late Oct/Early Nov

I too seem to be benefitting from this EOQ push! My 75D order was confirmed on August 30 and it just entered Production today. Although My Tesla still shows Oct/early Nov delivery, my DS just advised that end of September delivery is likely. He said that a number of orders have been advanced and mine happened to be in that group. Anticipation is building!

Update: Scheduled delivery date for Sep 18th with DS.

So the EoQ push looks like it resulted in me getting the car slightly earlier than originally anticipated. Good luck to the rest of you still waiting!

Did your status change on your my tesla page or did your DS alert you to the car entering production?

Where are
If you meant "Where are you located?", it was in the original post, North East

In my case, it only changed in MyTesla. I did not get an email or any notification from my DS, so it looks like you have to check your MyTesla. I DID get an automated email when it exited production though.

When was your order confirmed? What car did you get?

I'm set to pickup at Westmont too. Apparently mine is still on a train.

And when did they start to schedule pickup with you? I'm curious if they do it a few days beforehand (no problem for me) or 1 week or so?

I was confirmed on July 4. I ordered on July 1.
I ordered a 75D with AP2, no FSD. the only option I got was subzero, back then it was a stand alone option.
I have been in contact, like I said they have been very good with communication, for a few weeks. As the car went through production the delivery window closed from Sept-Oct to Sept 3-20. I noticed last weekend that it changed to preparing for delivery when I call my OA(Doug) and we sent texts back and forth to see if I could get it last weekend. That was a no go. Once Collin was back from the holiday weekend, we emailed back and forth to finalize time and paperwork.
So yes when it gets down to the last week, everything happen fast, lining up the loan, your trade-in vehicle and finial payment.

The last week was the toughest knowing it was in Chicago and I couldn't pick it up because they need to wash and inspect it. With the holiday they were short staffed otherwise I believe I could have got it sooner. I also asked for a weekend date so my daughter could go with me. I believe I could have get it Wednesday if my schedule would have permitted.

Hope that answers everything, so about a week before hand it gets crazy making sure all the ducks are in a row. Check your Tesla page, it will change to preparing for delivery, at that point I would call or email you DS. That is when it will start.

So I got a call from Tesla today wanting to schedule an appointment for delivery. I was quite surprised. They said my car isn't entering production until 9/18 but they expect it will be here by the end of the month (Seattle area). They offered 9/28 as the earliest day, but I couldn't make that day work so 9/29 it is. My Tesla account still hasn't been updated with any of this information. I was also told to go ahead and apply for financing again by the delivery specialist which I'll be taking care of this weekend.

Your order date? Congrats btw!

My car finally started production on 8/31 but it still hasn't completed as of today 9/8. I checked the spreadsheet and one car started production on 8/31 as well and finished production on 9/6. Another was started on 9/1 and ended on 9/6.... both of these are 75D's like the one I ordered.

The only update I've seen on mytesla page is a delivery range of 9/30-10/14. I originally ordered on 8/3.

The wait is killing me! I can't wait for it to arrive.
