It's worth the wait isnt it? My wife and I are heading out in ours to enjoy it too! We had a party last night and our friends were simply marvelling at the car. I haven't heard more "congratulations" since I got married.

Home delivery occurred right on schedule at 10am today. Ben Bird did a great job and the car is fantastic (Of course, I knew it would be) It only took 3 1/2 years! :biggrin:

Picked up my car at the factory yesterday. Still getting used to everything, but the usual accolades certainly come to mind. Due list included the carbon fiber spoiler, trunk panel that covers the recessed cavity in the trunk and a full detail (they forgot to do it...). Not having the detail done was a blessing in disguise, because it's raining all weekend here and I can get it done when the weather is nicer. They gave me a bunch of free swag as compensation, which was nice.

Just took delivery of P2982 at factory. VIN 2324. Still in awe of the car. Lots of people staring and pointing as we drove to hotel. 29 miles on odo. At delivery. Due bill - parcel shelf, and spoiler. Couple of scratches on back hatch, but they will polish them out. 21" wheels installed on car.

P993 delivered at Chicago Service Center yesterday. Bad news was minor chip in the windshield. They are going to replace the windshield but allowed me to take delivery and bring it back the day after Xmas so that my baby could be under the tree. Delivery Specialist Joe Dimaggio (I kid you not) was awesome in working out the issues and being flexible. Brought it to the theater last night and valet parked it (gulp!) and the put me in the rock star parking right next to theater entrance.

Looks great...sorry about the windshield. Must just be the lighting/exposure/white balance but that looks like a much lighter blue than the Pacific Blue!

It would be nice if Tesla put a 50 mm 18% grey stripe all around every car--maybe with some colour squares as well. That would sure help all the photos, and it wouldn't make the car look any worse.

There has been a ton of confusion with my S delivery status as they try to rush deliveries before the end of the year. I've received my DMV paperwork (3 separate time for some reason) and sent it back. I noticed the first operation and purchase date is 12/24 on my paperwork. Is this usually the delivery date? I wouldn't put it past Tesla to show up without telling me in advance at this point. The vehicle transfer form even says Tesla will sell, transfer, and deliver the car on 12/24?

I think they are being preemptive in some of the paperwork.. Yesterday I received a saturday-delivery fedex with DMV paperwork and my Calif temporary registration tag. I don't even have a delivery date scheduled but it appears they are getting all the titling paperwork needed to get the car properly titled and delivered in 2012 (assuming my car will be ready by 12/31). My registration says car first sold as a new vehicle as being 12/26/2012.

Tesla considers it delivered when it goes on the third party truck for delivery. Sounds like they're estimating that as the date when it gets loaded on the truck.
