Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Just got word from my DES that my car arrived in Chicago today. I was told earlier that they are now only shipping "full" trucks to the service center, so if you're expecting your car from Chicago this week, there's a chance it showed up today. I'm scheduled to pick up my car tomorrow morning, so they're fast-tracking it thru final prep and detailing.

I'm starting to wonder what I'm going to do staring at my bedroom ceiling at 3:30 tomorrow morning...

My car is set for delivery tomorrow, per a lunchtime call from my DS. I'm beyond excited and will probably not sleep well tonight.

P2595, Vin 3721. Living in AZ, I'm forced to prepay before they'll begin to arrange logistics, so I'm a tad later than I should be...In any case, I'm filling the rental car with gas tonight for the last time, and I can't wait!

I can relate; you will not be able to sleep for the nexttwo weeks as well. The excitement accelerates after delivery.

I guess mine is due within a week or so. Made final payment on Friday, I asked when the next truck to TX was leaving, but my PS didn't know, other than to say that there's 2 or 3 trucks per week heading this way. I've not had confirmation that the car has completed production, but judging from the other VINs, I suspect it has. My delivery window is/was Jan 26 - Feb 10.

Mine is apparently on a truck now to my 'local service center', but that's all the info my PS has. My local service center is 5hrs away in Houston, unless they're doing prep at the Dallas one that's due to be opened in March. I'm travelling from Feb 13, but he couldn't confirm if I'd having it by then. It does kind of suck that the tracking and status reporting is not more sophisticated, though generally I'm not sure it's any better with other manufacturers (not that that's a good excuse for Tesla not to be different from the rabble).

please post pictures. Can't wait for mine. Keep wanting to look at all blue cars!

I only took a few pictures, with my iPhone, and the car looks totally black in all of them. And now its really dirty after taking it on an 800 mile road trip. But in person, I'm really happy with the blue. I was a little bit conflicted about my choice after I finalized, but now I know I made the right choice. When it's outside in the daytime, it definitely looks blue.

Hey all you soon-to-take-delivery Tesla types, please remember us lower-caste 40Kwh rabble who have months to wait yet. Please do the right thing and take breathlessly gorgeous photos of your new S models and post to this forum. You'll be rewarded for your kindness some day. Bonus points if the sun is out on photo day. I'm feeling Tesla photo withdrawal symptoms at this moment and could really use a shot of adrenaline. Of course we expect you to tell us how cool the car is too.

yeah, I second that!

My Product Specialist contacted me via email and introduced me to the delivery experience specialist last Friday morning. She said my car was ready and I could pick it up as soon as my DS contacts me to make arrangements. I replied with additional questions and my PS has been extremely responsive and helpful but still no reply from my DS.
I'm hoping that he's not on vacation or something. I'm within my window and the MVPA was countersigned last week.
Anyone having similar experiences?
Getting super anxious.

Just took delivery, and now sitting in the Service Center awaiting the installation of the 19" snow tires. The experience could not have been better. My DES, Joe, was very friendly and thorough. When we got here, there was an empty semi pulling away from in front of the center, and another across the street unloading cars. Within five minutes, another truck full of MS's showed up and began unloading. My car wasn't at the service center, it was in another "undisclosed" location. I was asked not to take any photos there, but holy crap, there were a ton of MS's sitting there awaiting delivery. It was insane. Everyone in the service center was super friendly and accommodating. If this is the future of car delivery, the future looks bright!

Posting this from my phone, so as soon as I get home and the sun comes out, I'll post photos. Now the exciting part is driving this beauty home in traffic!

Ok, here's a pic of my S after about a 100 miles of driving from the factory. It's blue, despite what it looks like in the picture. I think that's more a camera problem.

I drove it about 700 more miles on the way home. Love it!

How was the drive from Fremont to San Diego in a 60kWh model? Any range anxiety?

What speeds did you drive?

I'm picking up my blue 60kWh in 48 hours and can't get off this board!!!

It was fine, but I did the trip over three days. I picked the car up on Friday and stayed at my parents' house in Davis that night, where I did a range charge. Then I visited some friends, taking an indirect route to Gilroy where I range charged on the supercharger. I then drove down highway 1 to San Luis Obispo where I range charged again overnight on a public 70A EVSE. On Sunday, I drove to Goleta, charged for a little while on another 70A EVSE, and then proceeded to Hawthorne, where I charged to 150 miles rated range. And finally I drove to San Diego. I basically drove as fast as the other cars on the road. From Hawthorne to San Diego, that was quite fast. And along Highway 1, it was quite slow.
