Back to the deliveries:
Vin xxx3939 deliveried today
60 kWh, Green/Tan/Lacewood
Initial Reservation 5,162 on 10/04/2011

The usual, great car, game changer, etc... Very happy to date.
Regarding the whole final configuration and delivery process; just a step past wondering what was going on and an email or phone call would occur. Like clockwork everything fell together but with rather delayed communications. I think in the future two different things will happen to improve this.
1. Customer service will likely improve and communications arrive a bit faster.
2. Customers won't have been waiting for years and the OCD tendencies won't be as pronounced. If you are only waiting for a couple of months for your car you likely won't be checking the app ten times a day for the VIN (U know who U R)

Take home message, Buy one and welcome to the future.

5 months for the second gen BMWX5 (when the third row was introduced).

Ordered in December, delivered in April.

There was zero communication from ordering until the dealer called and said the car had come in.

No app and no forum either... :)

I waited 9 months for my daughter to be born, and she was PERFECT!!!! But no app or forum either.

Yup. Apparently, mine was the first "85" badge in Canada.

i know the masses like pics so here is the first CDN 85 badge. First time adding a pic so bear with me if it doesn't work!

Took delivery on the 15th at the Dallas service center. Too busy having fun, so just now posting a picture for everyone. P85, Green (hard to tell from a picture on an overcast day), Tan, Carbon Fiber, 21" Silver, Pano Roof, Carbon Fiber Spoiler, Tech, Sound, Twin Chargers. Due bill: Parcel Shelf and HPWC. For those interested, there was not a P85 badge on the back.

Took delivery Friday 2/22/13 at the Tampa Service Center! Excellent staff over there! Mark (manager), Kim (service advisor), Ben (delivery specialist), Aaron (technician), John (technician), Eric (parts)
P85 factory badging was present. Arrived with 15 miles. Registration transfer was completed prior to my arrival - so no temp tags! (I had a plate available)
Due Bill: Parcel Shelf, HPWC, Dent Repair, CF spoiler.

Drove it 400 miles over the weekend (no single long trip - just driving around everywhere).
Issues - windshield washer jets spray the bottom of the windshield (being fixed today), driver's seatbelt does not retract (being replaced this week).
I've already damaged the B pilar on both sides, and someone (possibly myself) did similar style damage to the plastic pilar in the rear seat, passenger side.

Since I'm spending a lot of time hammering the throttle and speeding along the highway, I've been draining the battery in no time. It's a little disappointing how quickly it drains with aggressive or highway driving, but I am certain I will calm down :)

I've given rides to 6 friends so far, letting each of them drive it as well. Torque-induced laughs, screams, and speaking pauses occur with 100% of passengers!

Lots of thumbs-up from other drivers on the road, lots of questions in parking lots.

Looking forward to showing the Tesla in shows side-by-side with my 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 Convertible! I typically think that folks showing a late model production vehicle at car shows are a bit....er...silly... but I feel that the rarity, technology, and the need to promote this brand & tech justify showing it :)

Very happy with the color combo - silver exterior, dark rims, black interior w/red piping.
CF dash inserts.
Swapped the license plate light bulbs with LEDs yesterday.
Tinting it next weekend.

Some photo love...

Hey Man, well done! Congrats.

Which LED license plate bulbs did you buy? Got a link? I'd like to do the same to mine.

Cheers!
