Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I'm in Illinois and I've had the opposite experience with Erie. Every time I get quotes from other companies (every 5 years), Erie always comes out WAY cheaper. I've had them for many years and have had several claims including tons of hail damage on my home (replaced siding and roofs on house and workshop). Claims process was painless and quick. I've also had claims on previous cars including a totaled out truck (black ice) and a comprehensive claim when a metal pole was kicked up by a car in front of me and destroyed my bumper. Zero issues and great prices. I'm 40 with a great driving record and have multiple vehicles and a home policy. I was already quoted around 1200/yr on the plaid but that was based on the amount I paid for the car because their system wouldn't accept the VIN yet. They're telling me it will likely be cheaper than that once I take delivery and their system accepts the VIN.
Maybe we were just unlucky in the Northeast PA, a ton of people had issues and switched to Geico, Allstate, and Progressive

I called up and my delivery is scheduled for tomorrow. I'm a little suspicious whether will happen since the fella who answered the phone seem more interested in having my reject their lousy trade-in offer than in scheduling a delivery. I would think that scheduling deliveries would be top of mind. Weird. Probably nothing.

Also, before I got my VIN it was very hard to get a hold of anyone at the showroom. The high majority of my call went to voicemail, none of which were returned.

Once I got my VIN, I get through every time. The have may phone number, could they route calls differently based on whether you have a VIN?

Now removing tin foil from head.

I just got a $100 credit on my AMEX from Tesla. This is presumably from my early June Plaid+ cancelation. IIRC, the Plaid was a $1k deposit. Before I go digging through past AMEX bills can any previous Plaid+ reservation holder chime in on deposit amount?
I had a $1000 deposit on a + and converted my order to a Plaid within my account. The $1000 just transferred to the converted order.

Well, it happened! I found my car on the lot, just off the truck! In Prep now; delivery at 5pm today or tomorrow morning. More to come....
Some additional pre inspection/prep pictures. Picking it up at 5pm, PDT today - confirmed. Yes, check out the 19” wheels. I won’t pull the covers unless I have drawn, clarified butter on the side! I got ‘da worm/tube steak w/vein as well!

Some of the posts I see really got me thinking. Feel free to flame away.

Warts and all...

I believe there is an astonishing reality within our common plight. Nearly every person here will tolerate almost anything from Tesla to get to delivery.

I cannot think of a single product with the same prevalence of dissatisfied pre-customers that has a growing business.

For its time, a product exists that is so unbelievable that we can accept all that Tesla is, warts and all.

We will still complain as though we could walk away. (some can, I suspect they may regret though)

What a freaking glorious thing we are part of. And I appreciate it for what it is, warts and all.

Agreed!

If I get an iphone or a computer or an iPad or a BBQ and it's got a small nick in it, it's going back 100%. A $130k Tesla with only 4-5 issues that need
correcting is essentially considered a huge win!

Last email my car was suppose to arrive today and I would get an email or text to schedule my delivery... Its past 5pm and apparently its not happening. My date says 13th-16th still...
I was told 24-48 hours for inspection and prep after arrival. Seeing as how it is Friday, and most people bolt immediately on a Friday, they probably will get to it tomorrow.
