Probably just a computer crash. Likely due to the glitchy software. You could try and recreate it and if it continues to happen submit for a service ticket. But I bet it is "firmware" related and nothing the service center can do.

First - congrats on the VIN and impending delivery.
Now you have a VIN you can call them (main 888-518-3752 or your SC) and they can set a precise/actual delivery date. They’ve done that for me for two prior deliveries.
No personal checks. Only cashiers check.
I’ve used their AHC service twice - on the day of delivery and only after I checked first the exterior and peeped through the window for some intelligence on the interior before I send the money. Once you hit sent, your app will update within seconds for you to unlock the car and take delivery. I’ve not paid in advance of actual moment of delivery.

One other pleasant surprise for my delivery last Friday…. They are still honoring referral codes as my 1,000 SC mile are in my account and I have been using them.
Not so much concerned about build quality but curious on if there are ANY known differences or just a simple year # change.

Hey all; I just received a MF4544xx VIN for a Plaid. Besides not being a 2022, it seems like an early October build, from my vin recollection.... Anyone with a similar VIN have a build date to share? Trying to figure out how long this one has been, "laying around..."

Whoa, @impastu! I too just received a MF4544xx VIN.... Build date 11/15, you say?I stopped by the Delivery Center today to conduct a pre-delivery inspection. My SA found her right away. I think it was brought out just as I came by. Noticed the “FC KICKBACK” sign…unsure what that means but I think @DermMD is right that it didn’t pass inspection at some point. However, I know it came straight from CA, and it was supposedly born on 11/15. MF454 would put the born on date earlier than 11/15, soMaybe a factory ”quality control” kickback? 15 miles on odometer, so if it’s a car that had issues, they didn’t drive too far to figure them out.
She looks perfect on the inside. No seat wrinkles. Everything aligned and snapped in correctly. Slight worm…but fortunately it’s not taking Viagra so hardly noticeable. Forgot to do a visual inspection on all the glass, but didn’t notice anything.
Some cosmetic issues on outside that I think will be remedied with follow-up appointments. All door handles work well and look well-aligned. Rear passenger door is misaligned by 1/8-1/4” and rear reverse and tail lights have some strange cloudiness that may be noticed in the photos. Also the roof glass is slightly off center which will only be an issue for me if it won’t allow the Tesla roof rack to be affixed (saw some post months ago of misaligned roof glass cracking when the racks were locked down). Underbody has no scratches.
Pick up scheduled for tomorrow morning.
I had one of these in my car when I took delivery as well... and noticed the passenger seat had a new part label on it (presumably it was replaced at the factory before being received by the SC). No issues with the car, so I imagine as others had said was a factory QC-checked car. I was thankful Tesla was finally paying attention, haha

Rear glass has the distortion - 5% or less than that. Not an issue in my opinion. Out of line of sight from a drivers perspective. No issues with a shaking mirror. Minor trunk and frunk misalignment. No seat wrinkles. No underbody scratches at delivery. No paint / clear coat issues.
To put it simpler - the long ass delivery checklist was pointless to me.
Quick question re. the $2k discount. Are only LR deliveries with pre-refresh reservations receiving the discount? Have any Plaid+ reservations holders receiving the discount for conversion to plaid? If a Plaid holder received the discount, would you be so kind as to share your reservations #? DM me if better. thanks in advance
