Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I'm supposed to be taking delivery in a week and am wondering if they have ever even listened to anyone who has asked to not wash the car, similar to front license plate request, I'm sure we could tell them 24 times and they still wouldn't get it right. Has anyone been successful in the request to not wash their car.

Consider a bribe?

Here's an idea....one I might well try..

Show up at the store a day before delivery with a box of donuts and coffee.

And a note saying, from the guy with the red plaid coming that doesn't want it washed!
I take donuts and bagels to my SC with every service visit. I have no doubt that it is appreciated. :)

After playing with my car for a week, I sent it PPF. I got a quote of 4500 for whole car, 350 for windows tint. 250 for front wind shield tint. I hope they can do a good job. The price is not bad in the Bay Area. Now I am typing, because I can’t feel anything when I floored my old drive.🧎‍♂️🧎‍♂️🧎‍♂️🧎‍♂️🧎‍♂️
that's actually a great price for full PPF especially if its from a reputable shop

SC called me at noon today that my car came in already - picking up at 5:00 pm today instead of Saturday!
I picked up my car! 380 days after the order! I noticed nothing out of the ordinary other than some glue residue on some trim. No panel gaps I cared about, all covers and mats, and its quality is so much better than my 2017 MS. I need to take a picture of the new hinges for William.

Autopilot calibrated in 10 minutes of driving. Software update is waiting. And I noticed very little difference between ANC on or off.

Have you removed your factory glass scum shipped with your shiny new car yet?

For Details read here De-Scum Model S Refresh Windshield

The photo below is showing the difference of where the scum is removed and not removed.

ALL Tesla's come with it. And it does NOT come off easy.

And don't even think of Asking a Service Center or Delivery Center to do it. If they were not so clueless they wouldn't deliver them like this in the first place.

Couldn’t you just use a razor blade?

That could happen. They called me four days before my delivery appointment to get my car. You can sneak in that way and drive off in your Plaid!

I might have tried that before I discovered using the polish. But honestly, the polish works fantastic and is way less work that scraping every bit of your windshield with a blade. Takes maybe 10 minutes. But I think the scum is so fine, thin and bonded a blade might not work well. That scum line in the photo, you cannot feel the edge. And your finger nail won't touch it either. I never realized it was a "layer of scum" until I did polish it and saw where I stopped. The polish is very mild and doesn't touch the glass, it just removes what's on it. But a blade might work.

Just took a peak at the secret Bellevue, WA lot this evening as I was out that direction. Got the whole color gang!

Interestingly the midnight silver was a pre-refresh, as you can see by the headlights next to the Refresh 2.0.

Too dark to see the hinges, of course. 😬
