So, back to new MS to be delivered. Dirty, duct tape residue where one rear window would not close.

No USS, no new cameras.

Bright side is new chrome letters on rear trim bar are just thin appliques that are so poorly attached you can twist them into alignment, which needed doing..

SA lied or was misinformed about HW4 on the cars I saw.

Careful there, flames a coming. I know you mean Level 5 and you are probably correct.

Confirmation bias runs strong. YT'er raves on vid about how great HW 4 FSD is, then soon after, runs a stop sign or some similar fail. "But it did better than 10.69"

Nice. Miss my free summon, sunroof, charging, and data from the 2015 MS.

I mean is it that hard to understand that if your product isn’t ready for service then don’t sell it yet.

I learned long ago with tesla buy what you know works today because tomorrow is promised to nobody.

just got a call. my car is on a truck to irvine. appointment is 245 sunday. The asked the SA if he could confirm that i have hw4. he says the note(or tag) says ap4 and previous cars were ap3. so he assumes so.
i told him that i was under the impression that the parking sensors and Auto pilot would not be working , he didnt think that was the case.
i asked if the cameras were installed and working and he said the expected yes.
i told him that i heard that the software was not updated to use them and he said that there may be an update in a few days.

has anyone picked up a car, i checked my vin and it is after the 50500xxxx per the post above.

He lied on almost every question you asked. Lol

Were you charged for the tire swap from summer tires to all seasons? Congrats though!

I ended up buying the additional tires. I actually wanted to get a set of wheels and all-season tires but they didn’t have wheels in stock, hence this was the next option. I will have a snowy drive on my way home on Sunday, therefore I needed the summer tires off one way or the other.

I picked mine up today. MSP Blue 19” wheels. Yoke. Had 6 miles on it. Didn’t do as thorough of a job of checking things as some of you outline here, but everything seems to be functioning fine. It came with summer tires but I did need all-seasons, as I live in a snowy place. Luckily they had all-seasons in stock and were nice to squeeze me in for a quick tire swap, hence I had to wait another hour or so, for the car’s very first service visit before I even got to drive it. There was a software update pending for 2023.2.201, as soon as I paired my phone. It’s doing the update at the moment. People at the store told me this is the HW4, along with the updated cameras.

I have 12000 miles on it. it does the first drive of the day 30-40 vibrations.
Everything else is smooth so far. Third tesla owned so I will keep you guys updated.

When you changed the color did it update in your profile?

I ask because I too changed the color on my order before by going to a service center and speaking with a person there. He did something on the computer and said I was all set with the new color

Days. Weeks. Months later the change was not reflected on my profile. I went back and asked and there was no record of me requesting a color change.

Had I not asked again, I would have received the color I initially ordered.

The new color is indeed showing in my app. Also got a confirmation email with the new color.

FWIW... The delivery window did not change....still reflecting the same window.

I believe there was an update in the last couple of days that enabled Autopilot on HW4 cars. Mine is scheduled to arrive by the 22nd, VIN is 5053XX so I expect HW4

That would be great if they have the update. Has anyone taken delivery and confirm that the auto pilot and parking work?

my car is blue long range with black int, 19s , and the round wheel. appointment is Sunday in Irvine .
lots Of opinions here, but does anyone know the following
-is it possible the cameras are not installed yet?
-do the cars still need a software update before auto pilot and parking assistance work?

Absolutely. As soon as the day starts, I’ll go take a few close up pictures. Here are two pictures I could take before they had to quickly take the car in before their end of work day, so that they could swap the tires.

I did see on Teslainfo that they estimate hw4 starting around 505000 vins. Mine is 503xxx. I quickly glanced through the menus to see if anything mentions about hw4 but couldn’t see. If any of you know the definitive way to find out, please let me know. I agree that people working at the store may not have the most reliable information. The delivery person said “we can tell as we see many cars. See how this camera (pointing at the fender camera) is red like this. It wasn’t like that before. Anything they built in February is like this now”. And I am still curious to find out whether I have the updated hardware, but at the same time don’t seem to care as much as I did before I got the car. The fun of my first drive from the store to the hotel is pretty much all I can think of.

So, you are in Michigan and they mounted the summer tires? I am in Florida so I should expect the M+S tires then. Why not.

I would argue if it doesn’t have uss it’s probably hw4

I can confirm you, that you have new camera system!
If it's HW3 or HW4, hard to say... it's best to check on centry video that was recorded, higher resolution and 30FPS it's HW4!!
