Model S Reservation Tally

FWIW, here are data points from here and the official boards (all US P numbers):

P1440 -> RN008886
P1635 -> RN010331
P2747 -> RN020092
P2823 -> RN020925
P2842 -> RN020984
P3807 -> RN052950
P4550 -> RN092314

Interesting to know that the RN number had been assigned all along; my confirm email (4 Feb 2010) did not include it.

According to a guy from inside sales, the RN number is a unique identifier for reservation holders. It's not subject to change.

The sequence numbers are obviously subject to change as they compress the stack after traitors depart the flock, leaving holes in the sequences.

They are working on adding the sequence numbers back onto the "My Tesla" page.

I'm now #RN005039

Their site is so slow sheesh. Also, anyone notice on MyTesla, the blog entries all say today's date? I saw the first entry:

Update
Posted Dec 2
Events Near You

Many Tesla events are scheduled worldwide, this summer. Find events near you to experience the Tesla...

and thought "why the heck would they be advertising summer events in December?"

From the official Tesla website:

Tesla | December 2, 2011

Mycroft is correct. We made some web changes last night including some changes to MyTesla. We used to post your Reservation Sequence Number to MyTesla. Now we post your Reservation Confirmation Number. We are working right now to update MyTesla to show you both numbers. We hope to get this done in the next 24 hours.

More Info:

WHY TWO NUMBERS?

Your Reservation Confirmation Number is the number we use to track your account. If you ever need to call us, we'll ask for this number to quickly pull up your account details.
Your Reservation Sequence Number indicates your place in our reservation queue and the order in which you'll be invited to finalize your Model S configuration, options, and packages.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, maybe they're working on compressing the lists to figure out exactly how many of each they have (for isntanceso they know how many more Sigs they can sell) and so they've hidden the sequence #'s until they do this compression.

There was also the idea that they may build Model S with certain option sets first, then the next set of options, in addition to the 300 mile battery first, then 230, etc.

So while they'll surely still use the sequence number within those option sets, the sequence number might become a bit less important (in some cases) than which options you choose. This way the overall production rate can increase, and simplify things for the factory initially.

Wow. Until they get the sequence numbers reposted, this just isn't going to end.

People, the RN number is merely the account number as a reservation holder. The sequence number hasn't changed, they just are temporarily updating the website. They said the sequence numbers will be reposted soon.

In case anyone missed it...
