Not so much false as unlikely: Tesla Nurburgring record: The real reason Nico Rosberg isn’t driving | CarAdvice

Supposedly all drivers on the ring need to take several days of training, which Nico hasn't done, despite his F1 experience. It still might happen if the track makes an exception for him, though.

There was an article in German that was posted on the investor forum today that actually gave the name of the driver they’re using(don’t remember it). Apparently lesser known but more a specialist in this track.

But it wasn't sold as a P85D+ complete with the badge was it? (i.e. it wasn't an option you paid extra for like it was for the P85.)

Correct. My March 2015 built P85D with the Plus Suspension option did NOT:
  1. come with a " + " added to the P85D badge
  2. cost extra
Adding the " + " was an easy fix though... especially with Abstract Ocean selling them online Tesla Model Letters

That's false... I have a p85d from 2014 with the "plus suspension" option...at the time it was around $8k. At some point in 2015 Tesla removed that stiffer suspension option.

Which does beg the question, why was the plus suspension removed, not to return until some upgrades on the Raven. I have a pretty bare-bones 2017 S75 with SAS but I would’ve paid for a suspension upgrade.

I'd like to see Leilani Münter driving.
Won't it be great if a women driving the Model S topped the Porsche time?
I think there are a few women race drivers that own Model S.

Seems Tesla was scheduled to be at the track doing testing. Elon just did his twitter communication, keeping Tesla in the news. Promotion is part of his job - and avoid ad spending and put all those potential ad dollars toward "continuous improvement".

reminder: in the last 10 years Ford & GM spend near $4billion each/year ($8billion/year) on ads.
Not sure Tesla has spent $10 billion on R&D TOTAL in almost 15 years??

Don't be silly. There was no P85D+ or even stiffer suspension option. It was said P85D already had the same suspension as P85+ but there were never official words for that. You've been had if you think you got a P85D+. Check the screen of what it says.

Why does the gender of the driver matter?
I’m pretty sure Tesla has spent way more than 10 billion on R&D.
