Model Y West Coast waiting room (May 2021 orders)

I got an email shortly after I ordered from the SA and I assume was assigned to me. Not sure how it works but the SA is at the closest Tesla service/dealer from me.

Mine moved from July 10-30 yesterday to July 11-31 today. I ordered the most basic, bare bones config you can back on May 18. Original EDD of June 21-30. Don't necessarily need the car, but the want is strong.
still hoping it'll be sooner than later.

Ordered 5/22. VIN assigned tonight! 216xxx. Like others here, my EDD bounced all over the place. Now, the end is in sight. Hoping everyone gets their cars soon!
Makes you really wonder what in the world is happening and how they are matching the car with the owner.. obviously it's not first come first serve... they would make a lot of customers happier if they knew their actual place in line
They are going fast as furious. Make sure you have your financing ducks in a row

My last EDD was showing July 16 to August 5. My SA has been non-existent so I spoke with my brother-in-law's SA who owed me absolutely zero (he got a standard range Y a couple months back). However, she was AWESOME! All I wanted to know was if there was a "build date" for my car. She told me the build date had been pushed to July 25 but that it could be pushed forward again. Then, the unexpected happened. She told me that a client had been unresponsive and that a brand new Y, matching my config exactly, might be available today if unclaimed. Just after 12pm I got the text... "I assigned the car to you." VIN #217XXX. She said the build date was like 4 days ago. Pick it up this Saturday. Excited I am!!!!

Some of this can be ambitious SAs. If someone passed and the VIN pops up in the system, they can snag it and assign it to one of their customers. It doesn’t automatically go down to the next order on the list. The next on the list usually only applies to cars directly out of the factory. Once a VIN is assigned and rejected I assume it’s fair game for SAs and even average customers if it pops up on Tesla.com.
I was July 26-aug 15.Back to September today. I was optimistic that they were getting better with the EDD after mine stayed consistent at 07/06 - 07/26 for the last week. Appears not. Fingers are still crossed for a VIN soon.
Vin yesterday. Keep up hope
