Found exact match in inventory on 3/6, VIN assigned, Est Delivery March 6 - March 13
Scheduled Delivery for March 12 at 6pm. Was contacted on March 11 mid day to say due to a "logistical issue" my car wasn't at the Plano facility and they couldn't get a hold of anyone in logistics to see when we can expect it. New EDD placeholder is 3/27 :(

Went in to the delivery center and spoke with someone who said this seems “odd” - they haven’t heard from Tesla Logistics - the car has 68 miles on the odometer, and she said it was likely used as a “shuttle” vehicle between sites (??). It really seems like this car wasn’t supposed to be available to be sold, but was - and now they’re trying to sort through how to undo all this. I’m supposed to hear something by EOD tomorrow - fingers crossed they’re able to find me the same car, or figure out what’s going on with this car on my account. The delivery specialist in Plano was super friendly and very helpful - even though she admitted there was no comfort in hearing that they don’t know where the car is. Big yikes.

Geesh! Good luck.

Yikes indeed. I'm not sure what the "law" is in Texas but when I inquired about the odometer reading on my delivered car, Tesla informed me that anything under 50 miles is considered "brand new". By that definition, your car is technically "used". I wonder if you'd be able to negotiate a lower price or some significant credit. Total long shot, though, haha.

Thanks, I didn’t realize the casting-structural pack connection. I’m also guessing paint could be better from Austin, newer better paint operation. But HW4 and new better more cameras plus maybe HD radar is my main reason. Hope the Teslascope projections are right.
After a little more research I find all Model Y’s have a cast rear (two iterations?), but only the 4680 structural battery also have a front casting - so far. Someone please correct me it I’m mistaken.

What are the teslascope projections?
No guarantees but hopefully all MY’s will have HW4 by end of summer, plus more and new higher res cameras before end of 2023. Both already delivered on MS/X. More cameras and/or HD radar?

“HW4 has already begun production (gratefully confirmed externally by @klwtts). Tesla's goal is for all vehicle models to be delivered with this new hardware by the end of Summer, including those made in China and Berlin.

Tesla has begun to upgrade the resolution of cameras silently, starting in late December 2022.

The Cybertruck being produced this year and in-production Semis will be the first vehicles to have the additional cameras (and HW4) from the start. Before then, the Model X and S will be the first vehicles to include the new cameras, and this will gradually transition to include Model 3/Y (made in all regions) before the end of the year.”

Got a call from Tesla yesterday, they confirmed that the "Faulty" delivery date of my car that was currently late april to start july was in fact a valid date, even though at order, the EDD was February/March.

They asked me to look at inventory and see if there was a car that fitted me, i told them that there were only whites and i did not want white. The SA said that this was odd, that she had seen atleast one in grey.

She checked and they had one in grey, where everything else was as per our order, so we promptly jumped on that one, the SA changed the order over, now we have a VIN, and the car just needs to be transported from a site in Germany, to Denmark, and they expect to be able to deliver end of March.

So jumping out of this thread, as i no longer wait for a blue car :)

When ordering we had talked about color and settled on grey (This is the darker grey) or blue, but chose blue as this was the cheaper of the 2. We got the grey one for the same price as the blue one, so we are just happy to get A car, soon :)

Hey, Everyone. Instead of just spamming all the threads I've been following, I figured I'd just provide the link to the thread that briefly details my delivery experience.

Austin Build 2023 Quality Tracker

tl;dr - Austin build (PA066*). Car was delivered to my address from the Burbank, CA service center. Number of fit and finish issues for both interior and exterior. Disappointing experience. Lesson learned - do not have the car delivered to you; pick it up at a nearby service center; use the Tesla Prep app.
Last update on my initial experience ending with the 100-mile service. I hope this helps others.

Austin Build 2023 Quality Tracker

tl;dr - Got most of the identified issues resolved. Dealing with two new issues not pertaining to fit and finish. Still disappointed but overall experience has been satisfactory.
