I received my VIN today! EDD 8/12-8/18.
(LR, Midnight Silver, 19”, White, 7 seats
Ordered 5/25 and completed profile same day)

Does anyone know the process to change from cash to finance? I initially planned to pay cash but there are some good rates out there so thinking to finance now.

You will have to call order support, I call this number (510) 249-3100 usually, or visit nearby SC for changing payment mode.

Received VIN on 08/01 and haven't heard from SA since then. So, called up Tesla support and found that car is in transit and is scheduled to arrive at Dallas on 10th.

1. Should I apply for financing and clear off down payment before 10th?
2. Any rebates for installing L2 charger?

We've moved again but i've noticed that the 8/31 date has been hella consistent so maybe that's a good sign i'll be aboe to get it by then (wishful thinking). I still have not received a VIN yet.

Spoke too soon. I guess the 8:30am EST isn't being consistent lately. Just the first date changed again through. Now 8/18-9/5, so 9/5 has been consistent the past 3 changes...

Hi All, I am still not seeing a EDD or have a VIN assigned for a MYLR|MSM|5 seater with order date =7/22. When would the EDD show up? Can anybody share their experience please?

You typically won’t get a VIN assigned until 1-2 weeks before you receive the car and for an order placed 22nd July you’re a long way from that yet. What was the delivery estimate when you placed the order?

8/29 - 9/18. I’m tired. Wake me when I have a VIN please. And hear you @MSHampton not much help from my SA or anyone to be honest - frustrating - although there’s probably not much that they could tell me.

Not sure really why I take this, other than there's no real competition. I believe that in a market driven economy, the power lies with the consumer and by accepting this really quite shoddy treatment, I am abrogating my responsibility as a consumer. At least these delays are (allegedly) due to supply and demand rather than simply greed or incompetence like with other companies

Having said that, they really, really could (and shou7ld) have better communications. It's like they're taking the p1ss

Mine slipped again, like everyone else. Now 8/21-9/10. Was really hoping to have it by 8/20 for a family gathering/trip, but it looks like that isn't happening now. Oh well. That's luge in the new world I guess.

When I get annoyed I remember the original delivery estimate on the ordering page and take heart that if I count from when I completed my profile my EDD is still within that 9-12 weeks promised.

As for the free market and consumers, what you’re seeing is similar to a monopoly (the only decent EV at this price point) and therefore we have no choice than to put up with it. This is why pure free markers don’t work, you need government legislation to avoid ending up with Standard Oil or Ma Bell.
Now in reality it isn’t a monopoly, there are other EVs available and some are very good, but even if there weren’t it would be because legacy car makers simply refuse to make them. So in this case the free market is working fine. We just want the market leaders product so I look forward to the market leader changing over time as that’s when we as consumers win.
