I received my VIN today! EDD 8/12-8/18.
(LR, Midnight Silver, 19”, White, 7 seats
Ordered 5/25 and completed profile same day)

Does anyone know the process to change from cash to finance? I initially planned to pay cash but there are some good rates out there so thinking to finance now.
You will have to call order support, I call this number (510) 249-3100 usually, or visit nearby SC for changing payment mode.

Received VIN on 08/01 and haven't heard from SA since then. So, called up Tesla support and found that car is in transit and is scheduled to arrive at Dallas on 10th.

  1. Should I apply for financing and clear off down payment before 10th?
  2. Any rebates for installing L2 charger?
 
We've moved again but i've noticed that the 8/31 date has been hella consistent so maybe that's a good sign i'll be aboe to get it by then (wishful thinking). I still have not received a VIN yet.

MYLR WoW, no other option. Ordered 6/20, showing 9/2-9/22. Chose FTW delivery as well. How are you even getting SA. I don’t even have them responding to my texts…Slowly dawning on me that it’ll be a mid Sep delivery at best

Not sure really why I take this, other than there's no real competition. I believe that in a market driven economy, the power lies with the consumer and by accepting this really quite shoddy treatment, I am abrogating my responsibility as a consumer. At least these delays are (allegedly) due to supply and demand rather than simply greed or incompetence like with other companies

Having said that, they really, really could (and shou7ld) have better communications. It's like they're taking the p1ss
 
When I get annoyed I remember the original delivery estimate on the ordering page and take heart that if I count from when I completed my profile my EDD is still within that 9-12 weeks promised.

As for the free market and consumers, what you’re seeing is similar to a monopoly (the only decent EV at this price point) and therefore we have no choice than to put up with it. This is why pure free markers don’t work, you need government legislation to avoid ending up with Standard Oil or Ma Bell.
Now in reality it isn’t a monopoly, there are other EVs available and some are very good, but even if there weren’t it would be because legacy car makers simply refuse to make them. So in this case the free market is working fine. We just want the market leaders product so I look forward to the market leader changing over time as that’s when we as consumers win.
