It’s definitely a fatty around the fenders.Y’all are seeing stuff if you think that car is wider. It’s got big wheels. That’s it.
Rear quarters are definitely wider, look at the charge port to the outside of the quarter and also look at the line of the bumper cover where it attaches to the quarter. The total rear width is likely 3-4 inches wider than the stock S.I dunno. I’ve been squinting at these pics and the ones I snapped of my own car, focusing on the areas you describe, and they look the same to me. Lighting is different, but measurements wise they look spot on.
I used your own photo to compare, as much it’s possible. Have look, I had to make the “prototype” black&white to be able to see “through”Y’all are seeing stuff if you think that car is wider. It’s got big wheels. That’s it.
Lol. If that car is wider, it’s by 3-4 quarters of an inch. The total rear width is likely 3-4 inches wider than the stock S.
exactly exact dimensions impossible to know with this. Same methods they do to film Tom CruiseAll the mismatches you see are because you took the photo from higher point than the driver behind that prototype... I have had some experience on photography and have not “photoshopped” it to look wider. I only lined up the lines of the tailgate to fit two photos together.
Again that is just the angle the pics were shot at. The one at the top was shot from a closer and higher angle.Granted, these pictures are not from the same angle but they're close enough. The mirrors on the current Model S in the top picture clear the body, but intersect the body on the bottom pic.
Probably a well built mule designed not to attract attention (other car makers do the same thing testing new stuff under present car bodies).
I’m not sure if it’s clear that this spy photo shows a wider car. But who cares? If this is the refresh, it will be very disappointing. Over eight years later, there needs to be something more significant
