Been posting updates in the California section of this board so no one here has seen it but I received a call yesterday from the Costa Mesa delivery center (Socal) about my order. They informed me to finish up the payment option quickly as they are taking deliveries at the end of this month and they don't want me to miss the chance to pick up my vehicle. I would have 3 days after the initial delivery date to grab the car and they wanted to work on all the paperwork soon.

Congrats. When and what did you order?

I hate to be the bearer of second hand bad news, but the Fremont DA told me that orders aren't fulfilled based on the reservation number, but other factors such as location and order date. I was in the same boat as you having ordered one trim on 10/3 and deciding to update my order a couple weeks later. Oh well. I have my fingers crossed for an early December delivery.

That’s sounds pretty good. I hope all is the same for me. I’m taking delivery Marina De Rey as well as a few others from here. Ordered 10/15 White/Black 19in wheels. No FSD.

I was also driving home tonight at the 5 freeway and saw a truck going southbound to Burbank filled with Tesla’s M3’s.

Long time lurker finally joining in.
10/20 order date. S. California. SR+ White on Black +FSD. No VIN yet.

Have a few questions im hoping you gents could clear up for me.
  1. I have not input any insurance information as of yet on my Tesla account. From my understanding i will need to wait till a vin is assigned? If so, and not having done that, that will not affect my place in the order status will it?
  2. I initially placed the financing institution information (ie name, address, amount, etc.) . But i have not entered any other payment information. From my understanding i should wait till a vin is assigned because loan applications are generally only valid for 1 month?
Thanks

1. In California, you can provide proof of insurance for another vehicle, though I’m not sure what your options are if you don’t have a second vehicle.
2. Before I picked up my first Model 3, the DA told me that I needed to complete the finance section on my account. If you plan to finance the vehicle through your bank or financial institution, you’ll want to enter the bank info and loan amount. An amount owed will appear at the bottom if you intend to finance a portion of your balance. I brought a check from my bank for the loan amount and personal check for the balance with me when I picked up the vehicle. Something to keep in mind is that once you’ve submitted your bank and loan info, there’s no way to undo your submission without your SAs help.

Thank you for the info! I plan on getting it through Tesla, so for now it is ok to just hold off? I just need to have the insurance on file before delivery, anytime before delivery is ok?

I hope they drove it all the way to Costa Mesa.:)

I installed the tesla vin finder chrome extension and yesterday when I logged into my account there is a pop up saying a VIN was assigned to me.
Was notified email today by the Operations Adviser in Portland that my SR+ White/Black will not be coming in November. I ordered on 9/28. With production of my car sometime in December they said It is "expected to arrive before January".
I'm right there with you, I ordered 9/26 and optimistically looking at a Dec. delivery (SR+ white/white FSD) as an aside, just for kicks, I asked Alexa, "where's my Tesla?" For some reason she replied, "your Tesla will be delivered Monday, November 18th." What does she know that I don't ?!?!

Wow. I didn't know Alexa is capable lying. This is funny.

My first post is filled with excitement!!

I received a text stating my car is in transit and I can schedule the delivery. Used the link, booked a delivery appointment for Nov.26th!

The delivery appointment now displays in my account.

I called Tesla and they kind of spent more time bursting my bubble rather than being excited for me too. Considering that when I ordered the published delay was 2-3 weeks, then it changed to 3-6, then 3-8, then 4-8 I believe only to end up at 4-10!!! I mean considering the customer’s side of things and actually making you feel like they feel your pain would go a long way to actually help manage the mounting frustration! I digress...

Still excited! White / Black SR+, 19’s, ordered Oc.16th in Montreal. Delivery (obviously unconfirmed) scheduled for Nov.26th!
