A few photos from 19:40 this evening. Busy. Wind has brought misc trash; broken bottles near the charging area/equipment enclosure. Portal potty on site should the mall be closed.

So, what do you do when the site is full except for the handicap charging spot? I guess you could back in on that one corner there to “technically” not block the handicap spot? (And of course, giving up the charger in case an actual handicap Tesla shows up!) :)

Looks like Mesa isn't the only Supercharger Tesla is planning in the East Valley.

A new location is coming to Arizona Mills Mall!! I'm kind of strapped on details but I do know the valuation which is around 160 grand.

Tesla seems to have snuck this one by me during the planning phase but I'm lucky to have caught it in the permit phase. Thanks team!

Plug in and remain in your car.

Some of the superchargers actually have signs that say "use last" on the handicapped stalls.

While I've never seen a sign saying "use last", I have seen the handicapped stall in use 100% of the time at sites when at capacity. The original Kingman site at the Carl's Jr comes to mind as a specific example. I've seen this practice used probably 10-15 times and it was never an issue. I suppose the issue would be if someone showed up and flashed a placard. If a decent amount of charging is still needed, do you move and then try to claim a spot at the front of the line?

Just a quick update...this is indeed a very busy location. Friend stopped to charge this afternoon (Sunday) in the 2pm hour and the site was full. Never a long line, but maxed out after just a few weeks open. Where did all of these cars charge before this site opened?
“Build it and they will come” definitely applies here!

For me the Electrify America on the west side of AZ Mills and 5 miles south at the Premium Outlets EA site using the CHAdeMO but SC is greatly preferred as it’s 3-4x faster.

Hopefully the Mesa SC site will relieve some pressure here once construction is complete. Realistically we probably need double what’s currently in existence and under construction (Tempe and Mesa) to meet near term demand in the SE valley.

Yeah, add superchargers in south Chandler, Queen Creek, east Mesa, north Mesa, and that would be adequate for the east valley for 2022! (Don’t forget Globe too, though)

Witnessed an awful line here on Friday evening. At least 5 cars. And because the charger faces two directions, there were two lines with everybody unsure on who should go first. Not smooth at all.

We decided to give up and stretch it to Casa Grande in the rain.

I was there late afternoon on the day before Thanksgiving. After reading these posts I was dreading the line I would find on such a heavy travel day. On the way there the nav kept saying “short wait” and then “medium wait,” but, when I arrived, there were three empty spots. Sometimes you get lucky.

Ok, the Mesa supercharger is open now, so we can all stop filling up the Tempe site! :)
Oops, I didn’t follow my own advice…
Stopped here on Thursday for a short charge. Nav said “short wait”, but a couple spots opened as I arrived. But, it was non-stop in/out while I was there; very busy charger, but no one seemed to be doing deep charges, so turnover was fast.
I did go over to the 8 stall Electrify America charger too; not a soul there. 2 chargers completely dead, plus a couple other handles offline (but the adjacent handle seemed OK). I have noticed, since I got down to AZ for the winter, that I see a TON of other Teslas down here, but very few other EVs, despite some pretty good options out there now.
